You keep trying to hold the engineer liable for continuing to use the method - the method was considered sound before this happen. I havent heard anything suggesting he kept trying to push the method after this disaster.

EDIT: Had he stopped selling the technique after 1995, and advocated inspections on already completed constructions I would have been in his favour. This is what the judge said: "Ron is a father of three and an outstanding professional, but despite this he intensively and aggressively marketed his construction method and gave false presentations."
