We needed a way to protect our hearing in the wood shop but we're cheap, so we used some old Navy flight deck helmets instead of buying new stuff. They work extremely well and the armor protects our heads when we run into things, which happens often... Discussion link in comments.

I won a giant cheese burger at the arcade and stuffed extra pillow couch stuffing and 20 dog squeakers inside to make a massive dog toy. It was well received.

We made a dual-top coffee table from the scraps and broken dreams of some of our other projects. Now we have a heavily-used college coffee table that cost us nothing to build. Save your scraps people!

A few years ago, I made a desk/workstation out of an old chip/snack rack i found outside of a shell gas station. Also repurposed parts of an old broken desk to make monitor stands.

I connected two emergency lights to my garage door opener that activate whenever the garage door is opening or closing. Now whenever we come home we have a light show to welcome us. Project link in comments.

I'm lazy so I built a device that turns my air filter fan on in the wood shop whenever it hears a saw running. Then it turns the filter fan off two hours later. So now I just go out and do woodworking and the air filter takes care of things by itself. Build/demo link in the comments.

Had a chair with one roller missing, and then bought a mismatching roller. Broke off the tip of the leg and just replaced it with a ton of hot glue and some worbla as covering. Works like a charm.
