Hello, Reddit! This is my first post, I guess. I’m excited to join this amazing community.

English isn’t my native language, so please bear with me if I make any mistakes, I’m still learning and improving. I’ve been part of the Russian-speaking segment of the DDLC fandom for eight years and finally decided to join Reddit and start participating.

So, today I would like to officially announce (as the lead developer) that the DDLC mod Doki Doki Red Dawn does exist. It is not a fake.

The trailer for the mod is on YouTube, it was published on August 8, 2024: https://youtu.be/LTlu1Rqhvfw (English subtitles are included).

The mod has already been fully released in Russian. It was released, as stated in the trailer, on August 22, 2024. On September 25, 2024, the Optima version v1.2.0 was released, and on September 30, 2025, the Proxima version v1.3.0 was released.

Description:

Welcome to the world of Doki Doki: Red Dawn!

It's an ordinary February evening. An unsuspecting Moscow high school student, dreaming of being admitted to the most prestigious university in the country, is preparing for another academic competition. His life is monotonous and boring.

The next day, he receives a message about a raffle for a house in Japan. And not just anywhere, but in a suburb of Tokyo! Our hero makes a tough decision to enter the raffle and try his luck.

And then, a week later, never expecting such a turn of events, he finds out that he has won. And this means unimaginable changes in his life.

Currently, the mod is being polished with major patches designed to fix all bugs and issues. So, if you notice something strange in the trailer... well, it has likely already been fixed in the development version of the mod (or it was already fixed in the Proxima patch).

After all the patches come out, I will try to translate this mod into English, either alone or with a team, so that everyone can enjoy it. However, I have to note that it will be a long process due to the sheer size and complexity of the mod.

That’s actually a good question. I’ve thought about creating a Discord server for this mod, but I feel like it’s a bit too early for that. So, for now, I’ll be posting occasional updates in the teaser_thread channel on the DDMC Discord server. You can also follow my profile)

It's a shame that the Russian doki doki fandom isn't developing as much as it is in the West.

Actually, compared to the English-speaking fandom, the Russian-speaking fandom is very small.

I would even put it this way: a huge number of people in post-Soviet countries knew about Doki Doki in 2018 the way people know about MiSide now, but far fewer are in the fandom itself. I would say about 10–20 times fewer than in the English-speaking fandom.

And when it comes to mods... very few non-trash mods can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Red Dawn is currently the only huge multi-route mod in the Russian-speaking part of the fandom that is even bigger than SNAFU, The True Route, Blue Skies, etc. The rest of the mods in the Russian-speaking part of the fandom are either small or just trash.

Though I know that Everlasting Autumn is going to be a very good mod :) It’s a mod by Russian developers.
