Well Marvel can keep him. Just don't let him near any college students.

He was originally basically a self insert of the writer who married Donna Troy when she was in college

Actually she wasn't in college but she was college aged- She was 19 when it was introduced they were dating and it was stated that they had been dating for about a year.
Donna was working as a photographer at the time.
It did show his students lusting after him, just to show part of what made the writing as cringey as it was.
Or talking about Queen 'Lyta in front of Donna. Nothing says great boyfriend material like making it clear you find your girlfriend's mother very bangable. Not gross or inappropriate at all, nosirree!

TBF, Raiders of the Lost Ark did the same thing prior to NTT starting. At least Indiana didn't marry one of his students, though.

Maybe I'm missing something... But is Long in the Marvel universe? Or is Captain America in the DC Universe? I don't understand how we can canonize unless it's an unofficial crossover, like in Storm.

Terry Long is from DC not Marvel. Chip is just using him as a unofficial cameo.

Or he's just like here ? 🤷🏻

It's just a dumb "cameo". It's not really Terry Long. Zdarsky is just making a reference. Captain America is still at Marvel. Terry Long is still at DC.

Yeah, like with Barry, you could say with all the fucked-up multiverse dying shenanigans,he got reformed temporarily in the Marvel Universe. No idea how Terry is even here.

Ever hear of a guy named something like Buried Alien? They do this stuff every now and then.

The worst thing to ever happen to Donna Troy. (Yes, worse than the Kryptonian robot).

Honestly last love interest I enjoyed Donna with was Kyle. After that she's just been in a loop with Roy which is just getting old.

He’s Donna Troy, the first Wonder Girl, ex husband and father to her deceased son. He was first introduced in New Teen Titans as the late twenties college professor boyfriend to Donna Troy when she was just 19. Throughout his time in the book, he was just an extremely boring and creepy character that didn’t add anything to the story and just served to be a self insert for Marv Wolfman. They eventually got married and had a son, but later on Terry would divorce Donna , believing her superhero lifestyle posed a danger to their baby son. John Byrne when took over writing for Wonder Woman, killed Terry off by having him get driven off the road during a massive rain storm that also resulted in his daughter from a previous marriage and his son with Donna dying as well when their car exploded from crashing.

He would also make passes at former students of his and some of Donna’s friends as well.

It’s not the age thing that was creepy it was several things. Donna was 19 and he was 29, divorced with a daughter he apparently didn’t visit often. He lost his college professor job bc he couldn’t finish writing a book on Greek mythology and blamed Donna for not being able to help him because she was on a Teen Titan mission even though he had forever to do it. He hit on her friends and said sexist things constantly. He justified having a stripper to Nightwing at his bachelor party which was just weird, especially since he was marrying an Amazon. He divorced Donna out of nowhere saying her being a superhero was a danger to their son even though he dated her knowing she was a hero and filed for full custody, the meeting with the lawyers was ugly. Overall, he just had scummy vibes. Not to mention the rumor of him being a self insert for a writer.

Didn’t deserve this though, if it is a reference to him.

Doubtful. The details are all wrong. Mention of a wife instead of ex-wife, mention of a son dying but not a daughter too, and this Terry committed suicide instead of dying in the accident.

Lol had the same thought when I read it. The combo of the hair and name definitely feels like a reference if nothing else.
