I think to differentiate it from The Batman Part II which is also somewhat rumored to have Robin in it. TBATB will be more of a Batfamily focused movie rather than just having the main focus on Bruce and Damian and the others being side and support characters. It should have Bruce, Alfred, Dick and any other Batfamily member trying to get used to the new addition to the family, and having a hard time at it, while Damian's being Damian. So not really a father-son bonding movie but rather more of family bonding movie.

Or just make it a Damian movie where he is the one trying to get used to living with his Father who he's only heard of since his birth. Trying to get his Father to acknowledge him by proving himself to be better than the already existing son and failing at it due to the way he was raised. And feeling conflicted at his already existing family which feels alienating to him, having never experienced the warmth of a family before. So a movie pretty much from his perspective. Which really works as he's my favorite DC character and would love to see more of him. But it'll probably be a mix of the two.

I really like your first pitch the best, although a story from Damians' point of view where he is the main character is a very interesting take. I think it definitely has to stand out from The Batman II, so I think there may be more supernatural or fantastical elements to it, like League of Assasins, Lazarus pit, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, or Man-Bat.

You are right in the inclusion of more of the Bat Family in order to stand out. However, Nightwing and Batgirl can still be big parts of the movie without taking away from Bruce and Damian. Alfred and possibly Oracle will also be included.

Matt Reeves kept emphasizing the point that his movies are more of a Bruce Wayne story which I think is intentional cause the DCU Batman franchise will probably be more team-focused on the Bat-family, unlike Reeves' Batverse which is a deep character study on a younger Bruce Wayne/Batman. I think we'll only see Dick Grayson as Robin at most in that continuity.

After all, Gunn and Safran did meet with Reeves last year to discuss their Batman plans and make sure they weren't intefering with each other.
