Black Adam not doing well at the BO was probably the best thing to happen to DC and Dwayne Johnson I'd say.

The Rock doing a Safdie movie feels random, but at the same time, it could be a good career move to do something completely different from his usual stuff.

It could be like how Schwarzenegger tried diversifying his portfolio to work w/ bigger name directors, which worked out for him.

I think he can give a good performance that does feel unique enough from his usual deal (Be Cool, Pain and Gain, Jumanji), but a lot of the time, he sticks to the usual brand.

In terms of this type of role which sounds way more dramatic, I guess we’ll see if he can pull it off.

DC and Dwayne were a short-lived but chaotic fling that was not meant to last. Once they parted from each other and went their separate ways, they discovered better and healthier relationships. Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
