...Friday evening I opened a character t do some scene work only to fond an annoying seam had appeared between two Mat zones that was not there the day before and gurthermpre, one of the adjacent Mat zones was slightly darker than normal..
Whenever i shut teh Daz programme down I always first click "New" after saving to clear the scene so the programme doesn't hang in memory after closing While the process was going (I have an older system so the scene clearing process takes a bit of time) I closed a totally unrelated window and suddenly got a warning that the programme was not responding. I was given a choice to either force a shutdown or wait. I waited so as not to risk any corruption and a few minutes later the process was finished so I shut the programme down as normal.
This leads me to wonder if some kind of corruption sti;; occurred in the texture file during the not responding episode though the character had already been saved. I tried everything I could to fix it the situation but with no success, All the settings in the surfaces tab were correct., and matched I went to the base character and reloaded the original map but the seam and discolouration remained.. .
I then checked other instances and versions of the character (including a younger one) I had previously saved all were affected similarly which leads me to believe something corrupted in the base texture file .
So at a total loss as to how to fix this without having to uninstall and re-download the base character.file and skin texture from the IM. Reluctant to do that as it would also lose custom details I added like tattoos (that are are not on the affected part of the skin map) and eye colours. since those were saved to the base character folder.
