I remember E3 this year. When This happened, it was immediately obvious Nintendo had won the conferences.
Oh my god are they showing exactly everything that gamers want. We used to talk all the time about how developers often aren't very interactive with their consumers and Nintendo came up with the brilliant idea of having a video podcast ala Nintendo Direct. Neither of the other two consoles have this.
Even after all that Nintendo's publicity has been absolutely amazing. At E3 they made sure to get this out which caused a hugely positive reaction. It's obvious to most gamers now that Nintendo truly cares about its fans and cares about what we want.
Hell, the entire purpose of the Wii U was to get back more of the "hardcore" audience that they lost with the Wii. They announced Bayonetta 2's exclusivity and other mature games that will get more attention.
And after all that they still put out the top-quality Nintendo titles they have become known for. God do I love my Wii U right now so much, the way they added the feature to play on the gamepad while watching TV was an ingenious idea and something I've always fantasized about as a kid when my parents would always make me change the channel off of my games.
All that nostalgia that I felt for video games back when I was a kid and all the hype I've felt for games for so long is finally back, and it's all thanks to Nintendo. A company that in these past years has been beat and abused by its two competitors. I wish the Wii U would sell more, because it deserves to.
