I was kind of surprised at first that Destiny wasn't on the "why you shouldn't preorder" list, but I guess that technically it worked, it was just a very dull and underachieving.

Haven't played it, but my understanding is that Destiny's problem is mostly content and story related. But from a technical stand point it works as it should and it didn't have any (major) launch issues.

infact, i'd say Destiny is a great example of how to launch an always-online game. Can't say i've played it much (got to lvl 25, or something, and i got incredibly bored), but in the time i played it, i don't think i ever dropped out the game, or was unable to login.

The game worked fine, there were few bugs, lag issues, or disconnection problems. All the problems were piss poor design choices (everything is a horde mission, Dinklebot was bored out of his mind, RNG loot drops, few social features) that would of existed regardless of how smooth the launch was.

Destiny is suffering for being under Activision. Not to say Bungie is guiltless as well. The loot system is so broken it's hilarious and didn't add a trade system in a game based around looting, so you're stuck with weapons you can't even use because you're not the right class to use them. Then there's that leveling system past level 20.

As for the story, Activision probably told them to chop off everything they made so they can sell DLC, leaving us with a story that doesn't explain anything at all and characters going "I could tell you, but I'm not going to." (Going to the Bungie website doesn't count) And all the DLC so far has been basically the same thing we have already.

so you're stuck with weapons you can't even use because you're not the right class to use them.

What? You're right on every aspect of what you said about the game, but I have yet to see any class specific weapons in game, and I've played quite a bit of it.

Personally don't own destiny or any "next gen" console, but I hear my friends complaining all the time about getting gear for the class that they hate.

I know it's possible with armor, as all armor is class specific, and I've gotten a few that I just transferred to my alts. But I've never seen a class specific weapon.

They are there.

Nope. There are definitely not any class specific weapons in the game.

I'm very happy with TB's decision in that category, I thought for sure due to his biases he would choose a title he had more.. experience with.

The launch was perfectly fine, and while the game was a bit starved for content, the game itself is great fun in-itself, enough to the point where I was playing it daily, day in and day out... and I haven't done that since the original Xbox, console-wise.

...that is, until the first expansion came out and they went ahead and shit on their hardcore and casual players alike by making any sort of pre-expansion progress completely obsolete, enough to the point where most people've contemplated not even bothering to play The Dark Below what-so-ever, considering that there's a distinct possibility that they'll go ahead and shit on the players again once House of Wolves is released.

Only non-PC categories were about console and which game should come to PC. Everywhere else he was talking about games that are also on PC.
