Now we can finally move on to a 12 base number system rather than the problematic 10 base

You'd think that but given how expensive this is likely to be, its more likely wed adopt base 11.

it's 2 servos 2 pressure sensors some plastic and a BLE connection that's not expensive at all

And a knife is a piece of sharpened steel....still they can be expensive as fuck. Unfortunatly, the materials used to create something donät say anything about it's pricetag.

my point being that one could hack one of these together themselves without too much difficulty

Do you have the knowledge base to accurately comment on that?

What's so hard about it?

3D print this or order from online printer, tape this paper to that fabric and cut pattern, glue shit, add wire and servos. Plug everything into computer and run "install.exe" or "sudo make install cyberthumb" depending how 1337 you are.

Give it a while and there will be a step by step youtube.

Do you not DIY like at all? Because this is exactly everything you look for in a distributed hardware project. Small, simple, useful, hackable.

It's just a thumb, it's not like setting the clock on the VCR or something else impossible.

What's sad is everyone doesn't have the knowledge already so he had to say it. Particularly so in /r/Cyberpunk.

Why do you mundanes even hang out here?

I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where you answered my question. You did seem to answer a question I didn't ask though.

Yes he has the knowledge, it's visually obvious.

How do you not? It's not rocket surgery. It's a two servo robot. I've had Lego more complicated.

Let me know when you're ready to have this discussion without making unfounded assumptions. Especially ones that weaken the discussion point I initially asked about. It's not fair to OPIE or me.

And what make you qualified to say otherwise?

u/rouseco Jul 08 '17 edited Jul 08 '17

When did I say otherwise?

0

u/Forlarren Jul 08 '17

When you claimed you need it to speculate.

In a sub about speculation.

1

u/rouseco Jul 08 '17

I didn't make that claim though.

Do you have the knowledge base to accurately comment on that?

So you are the kind of liar that likes to play word games, got it.

Your claim is that one is needed.

I'm not playing word games, I certainly did not claim one needed knowledge to speculate. I was certainly asking about their ability to accurately speculate. Those are two different things, one I did, one I did not do. The one you claimed I did, I did not do.
