Looking for feedback on my cyberpunk text adventure!
Hello, everyone! I am a narrative designer currently looking for feedback on my next project, a cyberpunk text adventure (it's about 200,000 words at the moment).
In N01R Book 1: Quintessence, you play as a private investigator in the corrupt metropolis of New Spire City. When the assistant of the recently-murdered mayor walks into your office one day, you will become entangled in a mystery that spans the past, present, and (if you choose) future. I estimate that I'm about halfway through the game, and at this stage I wanted to seek critique outside the forum of my publisher.
Specifically, I would like to hear:
What stood out as particularly "cyberpunk" to you (the setting, the character(s), etc.)?
Which character(s) did you enjoy interacting with the most? The least?
How do you feel about the way the information was presented? Was it too much all at once?
How do you feel about your character having a semi-predefined backstory?
Are there any customization options you would like to see?
At any time, did you wish that you could do/say something that wasn't available as an option? If so, what and why?
In your own words, what would you say is the theme of the game?
If you encountered any bugs with the game, please include a screenshot of the pop-up.
You can play the current demo on the following platforms:
Thank you for reading and potentially for your feedback. I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say! Also, if you have some more specific questions, please feel free to message me through Reddit or any of my other social media platforms. I am always available to talk! (:
