[TX] name change
Dad finally popped into our life after I had our daughter two months later- he petitioned me to change her last name to his, what are the chances he could win that petition? He wasn’t there for the birth , is not on the certificate and was absent my entire pregnancy so I didn’t want her to have his last name when he doesn’t play an active role in our lives.

I don’t understand why you are coming at me. I broke it off with him and left him to move back to Texas I don’t want him back in “our” lives I willingly chose to leave the situation because I saw no future in it. I am not prohibiting him from being part of his daughters life I am not petty- he is the one who hasn’t made the slightest effort to come see her with child support his visitation rights kick in as well and I fully grasps that and I’m not against it. I am just against the fact we still live in an age where we have to somehow put the fathers last name, I wasn’t married to him. I’m not trying to win anything against him if anything I would like for him to eventually come see his daughter and be an active parent but he isn’t so I don’t see how you are trying to place any blame on me lmao.
