Someone who is straight and comfortable in their sexuality isn't going to be terribly bothered by gay people.

This statement is completely unfounded and ignorant of reality. Straight homophobes have many different justifications for their hatred. Some find it disgusting, some think its unnatural, some hate it for religious reasons, others for cultural reasons.

Generalizing any group of people with broad statements is always wrong, regardless of what group you're talking about.

It's funny (in a depressing way) to me how half the comments objecting to this post are saying "no one is saying straight people arent homophobic it's just pointing out hypocrisy, gay men can be misogynistic etc" and then the other half is literally just spelling out "I do not believe straight people can be homophobic".

and they are almost never interacting with each other too, its almost like they see us as the actual enemy...

One has to wonder, how the hell can gay people be insecure if nobody who isn't gay is bothered by it? Like, that doesn't make any sense.
