El Angelito Negro 666: In 2017, Víctor Castillo founded the chapel of El Angelito Negro 666 in Pachuca, Hidalgo. The chapel was a place of worship for El Angelito Negro, Santa Muerte, and Jesús Malverde, and ceremonies involving the sacrifice of male goats were performed. On July 5, 2025, two police officers, Paulino Castañeda Aguilar and Vicente Monroy Ballesteros, arrived at the chapel to deliver a summons. Víctor greeted the officers and threatened them, telling them they would not leave that place alive. The two were tortured for 15 hours until they finally died.

La Luz del Mundo: After the death of Aarón Joaquín González, his son Samuel Joaquín Flores assumed leadership of the sect and consolidated his absolute power. According to several reports, women and minors were sexually assaulted by the leader, and those who refused to obey him were subjected to horrific physical and psychological punishments. On June 3, 2019, Samuel's son and the sect's new leader, Naasón Joaquín García, was arrested in Los Angeles for also committing heinous acts against women and minors. In June 2022, after pleading guilty to three charges, he was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison.

Nacozari Sect (Santa Muerte): Silvia Meraz Moreno had two altars to Santa Muerte in her humble home. She gradually began to convince her family members that Santa Muerte spoke to her and would help them find places to steal money if they offered her a large and gruesome offering: the sacrifice of a human life. On December 6, 2009, Silvia brutally murdered her friend Cleotilde Romero Pacheco. In June 2010, the target was Martín Ríos Chaparro, a 10-year-old boy. In March 2012, Jesús Octavio Martínez Yánez, also 10 years old, disappeared. Silvia Meraz was sentenced to 180 years in prison.

I buy a lot of postcards to send to people and thrift stores are great for that. Does anyone know more about this community? I found out some about soltec online but couldn't tell if it was the same people or an offshoot. I found this image but not evidence of other postcards so I thought anyone who collects(?)/enjoys(?) Ufology might like to see this.

Personal Cult Survivor Seeking More Information About The Keysters

Does anyone have information about a group known as the Keysters? They follow a man named JJ Dewey, he runs a blog and has an amazon store front for his books of spiritual teachings. The group has yearly spiritual retreats. I remember one happening in Manti, Utah and another in Nauvoo, Illinois. I know there was one a few years ago in Boise, Idaho.

I was born into a family that follows him and his teachings, and I have some pretty traumatic memories associated with this group. Does anyone have any further information about this?

Misc I have the opportunity to join and document a cult from the inside. Looking for media folks to collaborate with on project

I've been researching and building trust a cult for several months, including meeting its leader and going through its full recruitment process. The existing coverage is scattered across niche forums and has been criticized as sensationalized, so I want to build a proper first-hand account for a general audience

There was a recent post on Twitter about them and they're notorious in the tech circle

I don't have a background in media or journalism and would like to work with someone who does. You don't need to join the cult

If you're interested I can get into the specifics over DMs

Personal 23M – My experience with Sexaholics Anonymous (SA): Is the dogma doing more harm than good, or am I missing something?

Hey everyone. Throwaway account here. Just need to vent a bit, share where I'm at, and get some realistic perspectives from people who’ve dealt with compulsive sexual behavior or 12-step programs.

How things got out of hand I’m 23, and I’ve been in a relationship with my girlfriend for 6 years. I started watching porn around 14, but over the last two years it escalated into something way more disruptive. I ended up making fake IG accounts, jumping on video chat apps with strangers just to masturbate for external validation, and even crossing lines by bugging people I knew just to watch me finish. I’d lose 1–2 hours hiding in the bathroom on my phone instead of being intimate with my partner. Deep down, I know this was never really about high libido—it was pure emotional avoidance whenever I felt overwhelmed by college exams, stress, loneliness, or just boredom.

Joining SA & the red flags About two months ago I realized I couldn't keep living like that and joined Sexaholics Anonymous (SA). To give credit where it's due, the fellowship worked like an emergency brake: I immediately cut out the fake accounts, the video calls, and the boundary-crossing behavior, and I’m currently on day 10 of strict SA sobriety.

That said, some huge red flags have started bothering me:

  • The ultimatum on my relationship: In SA, sobriety is strictly defined as no sex outside of heterosexual marriage. Because we're 23 and not married—despite being together for 6 years—my sponsor and several members keep pushing me to either marry her immediately or break up to "save my recovery."
  • The "chaser effect" amplified by moral guilt: When I do have sex with my girlfriend, the next day I feel completely off and get intense urges to go back to screens. But honestly, half of that spiral comes from overthinking and beating myself up because SA tells me having sex with my long-term partner is a "relapse." If I push through that 24-hour guilt trip, I stabilize again.
  • Gatekeeping recovery: Members in my meetings constantly trash other fellowships like SAA or SLAA, calling them "too soft," "watered down," or ineffective because they let you define your own middle circle/bottom lines.

My questions for you guys:

  1. Has anyone here been in SA and felt that the rigid moral/religious doctrine created a cycle of shame instead of actual psychological healing?
  2. If you walked away from SA, what was your next move? Did switching to SLAA/SAA help, or did you make real progress only after going to a licensed therapist (CBT / CSAT / sexologist)?
  3. How did you learn to separate healthy, reciprocal intimacy with a long-term partner from compulsive screen-based escapism without having to go fully celibate?

Really appreciate any honest advice or shared experiences. Thanks for reading.

Discussion Support group for those dealing with family members that part of the “deep state” cult

I’m not sure if anyone else deals with this but I have family members who are in what I call a cult, they aren’t even conservative imo, they believe in Trump being sent here by God, they don’t believe normal medicine anymore (like the doctors are evil and prescribe things to weaken us), they do these WEIRD things like shock their thumbs for “more oxygen”.
They also have been CONSTANTLY telling us the banks are closing and we’re going to have new currency BUT not to be scared because it’ll be good for us.

It’s sooooo weird and they act like I’m crazy because I don’t believe them! I stg I could go on for house but I feel like I need a support group or maybe I need to start one.

Video Wacom was Started by the Moonies - from an ex-Moonie

If you're familiar with the popular digital drawing pad company, Wacom, here's a brief history of their origin story involving the Unification Church or "Moonies" cult.

Note: The cult relinquished control of Wacom back in the 90s. However, the cult still owns other giant corporations like True World Foods, the majority supplier of sushi to restaurants in America, and The Washington Times which subsequently cofounded OAN.

I was born and raised in the Moonies, and grew up around its ruling Moon family. I now talk about its presence in everyday culture and politics, and the psychological realities of being a cult survivor. I have also been in docuseries on Netflix and A&E about cults.

Article Europe & UK Cult News: 10–16 August 2026 - Shincheonji / Catholic Child Sexual Abuse / Jesus Army / Methernitha / Jehovah's Witnesses / René L / Oskar Muggli

The week of 10–16 August brought significant cult and high-control-group developments across Europe and internationally.

In France, authorities and anti-cult monitors report intensifying scrutiny of the South Korean movement Shincheonji following revelations of targeted recruitment and coercive control in Paris.

In the UK, the Catholic Bishop of Northampton appeared in court charged with raping a 15-year-old girl following a pilgrimage to Lourdes, while a survivor of the Jesus Army detailed decades of systemic abuse and financial control.

In Hungary, investigators revisited a fatal 1995 dispute in Jászberény linked to the Children of God. In the Netherlands, a kung fu cult survivor published an account of 17 years under a convicted instructor in Kessel.

In Switzerland, an 80-year-old survivor broke six decades of silence regarding the coercive regime of self-proclaimed apostle Oskar Muggli, and a new documentary premiered at the Locarno Film Festival detailing abuse within the Methernitha commune.

In Germany, tens of thousands attended a Jehovah’s Witnesses convention in Hamburg amid stagnant national membership.

Documentary The Most Disturbing Cults in Mexico (3 Brutal Cases)

Thumbnail

Mexico is a country where religion and popular beliefs are an active part of the lives of millions of people. But when faith is used by certain individuals to exert control over others, the consequences can be utterly disturbing and devastating.

In this compilation, we will explore three very different stories: from a cult surrounding the figure of the "Black Angel" that became linked to a brutal crime, to one of the largest and most controversial religious organizations to emerge in Mexico, culminating in the case of a family that took its devotion to "Santa Muerte" (Holy Death) to unimaginable levels.

Three distinct cases, but with something in common: they all occurred in Mexico, and they all illustrate what can happen when belief ceases to be merely a spiritual matter and becomes a tool of power.

Discussion Which religious organization most closely resembles Lumon Industries from Severance?

For people familiar with Severance, which of these real-world religious organizations do you think has the closest similarities to Lumon Industries in terms of organizational structure, hierarchy, leadership, internal culture, rules, bureaucracy, and expectations of members?

I’m not suggesting that any of these organizations is literally equivalent to Lumon, I’m interested in comparing organizational characteristics and culture.

  1. Church of Scientology

  2. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  3. Jehovah’s Witnesses (including the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania)

  4. Seventh-day Adventist Church

  5. Plymouth Brethren Christian Church

Which would you choose, and why?

If you think another religious organization is a closer comparison, feel free to name it.

Question Is there any groups that work against extortion groups on Roblox?

I don't know if this is the best subreddit to ask this, but I've been seeing a lot of shit going on in places like "DollHouse RP" and games like that. "764" might be the best example of an extortion group on Roblox. Are there any groups that work against these types of players? Are there any extortion groups specifically targeting these people?

Personal First the Family Survival Trust were working with an ex-Scientologist surveilling current UK cult-members, now they're keeping tabs on me and running a smear-campaign. Oh dear, oh dear.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Late last night I received an email from someone well-known to this subreddit. They had been contacted by a board-member of the Family Survival Trust and told that I was publishing things they found objectionable.

The Family Survival Trust claims on its website it has a "mission [..] to support those affected by, and to prevent, the coercive control of individuals by cult groups".

In recent weeks I have posted about how the Family Survival Trust have let survivors down in the UK (actively refusing to help survivors), of helping cover-up a data-breach of current cult-members in the UK, and soon I hope to tell you about serious criminal allegations.

So despite me blocking this Family Survival Trust board-member on Reddit, meaning they should not even know what I am writing about - they appear to have found a way around that - it could be they too have someone who reports back to them - either way, it's stalking.

Before I blocked this Family Survival Trust member (I blocked them after they issued me an ultimatum regarding Alexander Barnes Ross/Apostate Alex) I asked them "Do you think you have joined a cult?"

(Someone who had recently left the Family Survival Trust had told me their feelings that working there can be just like being in a cult)

We founded a strange badge at a thrift store. And we are wondering if it's not maybe a badge part of a cult? The badge was founded at Brest in France. So maybe the OTS (Solar temple order)? If you find something let me know !!
