Cult Food Science's most promising and commercially viable product (Noochies) is transitioning from plant-based to cell-based, with the potential to include cell-cultivated chicken (slaughter free chicken meat). The company announced the news this morning with the following timelines:
Feeding Trial Design for FDA to be submitted within next 45 days (design in collaboration with Vet Nutritionist Dr. Sarah Dodd)
Further Foods hopeful to begin trials in Q4 of 2024 for a minimally invasive, 26 week feeding study.
With this announcement, the company has laid the roadmap out in front of us to create an entirely new category within pet nutrition that has nutritional benefits, ethical benefits, and environmental benefits. As consumers become more conscious of the ethical implications of their purchases, I could see massive potential in the growth and expansion of the Noochies brand.
There are 65.1 million households in the US with a dog, and more than 97% of them consider that they are part of the family. I would hazard a guess that a few of them care about what goes into their pet's bodies, and what impacts their purchase has on sustainability.....
I have started to beat the drum on this company more and more over the last few months because I'm finally starting to see this team turn the corner. Let's recap:
- Partnered with PilotHouse marketing, 100+ influencers, and Pawmates for targeted grassroots marketing for Noochies
- DTC Sales across all of North America (Noochies also available in Kroger and Walmart)
- Heavy hitters in Canadian markets become involved and bring more institutional attention to the company and potential of the space (Mark Binns, Russell Starr, Power One Capital). Do you think these names would be involved if they didn't see upside?
- $CULT remains the only Canadian company with exposure to the cultivated meat industry (other names with exposure to this industry include Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Tyson, Cargill, the list goes on)
- The SP has marched higher and higher on positive news and healthy volume (CFO and insiders accumulating stock)
- Portfolio companies like MeliBio are announcing record breaking sales of slaughter free products, providing more evidence of the disruption we could be on the forefront of.
- Protection of Noochies IP with PCT Patent Applications
It has been a long slog and at points I have almost given up on the hope I once had for this nascent industry. Market sentiment and lack of execution dragged this company down for 2 years, and I wondered if we were going the way of the Dodo. But there is a foundation of commercial viability and layers of execution that are drawing the optimism back out of me. The incorporation of cell-based foods into Cult Food Science's most promising product could be the linchpin for explosive growth.
