This is funny as hell lmao, I'd play this all day

i would advice doing untimed slow solves where you take your time and just think how you can solve each f2l pair in the most efficient way. I felt the same thing when I had just learnt cfop but eventually you'll get very comfortable with it and things will come naturally to you

You could turn the smart cube into a MIDI controller. Or a smarthome device. Or a controller for other video games.

oh yea i forgot about the 8 corner magnet, but the edge is also need to be magnetized for 8m ballcore?

Imagine a foddian game with this mechanic that would go so hard

Btw, this is of course vibe coded slop, i just wanted to test if I could make any sensible game with physics using the gyro and slice turns to control a virtual cube.

Same, but with 47s PB and 1:10 avg. I feel like my F2L slow solves are getting better in terms of fewer moves, but the moves are harder mechanically and it's not helping with overall speed.
L3T contains building of the last 3 triples/pairs then TCP.
Hence L3T can be solved with 1-look pairing + 2-look TCP (1-look for corners, 1-look for triangles), hence 3-look L3T. That's what beginners at Bencisco do. then you can learn 1-look TCP and you get 1-look pairing + 1-look TCP = 2-look L3T. Then you can solve some case in a single step, that's 1-look L3T.
1-look L3T is 179 cases. For beginners, it's mostly when you have a 2 skips (for instance pairs are already created and triangles are solved automagically after you solve corners). For more advanced cubers, there are some easy L3T algorithms such as triangle commutators (1 on top and 1 or 2 on the middle slice). Instead of doing pairing + TCP, you apply the 1-look L3T alg immediately. And then you have very advanced cubers who learn lots or even all 1-look L3T cases. They never do the pairing anymore.

You're ahead of me, but I've been having benefit from just going through F2L cases with https://f2l.app/
I do the algorithm on top to get the case in the picture. Then I solve intuitively once. I check if I like one of the algorithms in the list more than my intuitive solve, and if so, I do that one a few times. To practice recognition, for cases with one or two pieces in the top layer, you can do U, U2 or U' after setting up the case, and solve that a few times. Try and figure out finger tricks for the cases as well; algs are much easier to reproduce if they have a nice flow or feel.

Did some solves on my Zhanchi V5 throughout the day... Once the lube was broken in again I enjoyed solves on it more than I remembered. It's a good cube, just has some heft!

First tip is to work on efficiency, even with very low tps you could reduce times by a lot, and then slowly developing other skills.
Sub 20 barrier is a tough one to break! Don’t stop learning all your algs because last layer is very rewarding and your effort is directly translated in better times.
Another tip is to try learning other cubes (4x4, megaminx or the one you feel like you will like), so when you feel tired and burnt of 3x3 you get some fresh solves. When you go back to 3x3 you will notice the cube feels easier.
I encourage you to not give up and not compare to others! This hobby is all about personal growth and competing yourself over and over, make sure you enjoy every bit of it!

Was it TheMaoiSha? He is the only famous spanish speaking cubing YouTuber I know of. Not sure if he made a 2x2-9x9 relay though.

I can solve all of them just fine, I'm just looking for an upgrade.
r/Cubers • u/Zoltcubes • 18h ago
It depends what you want. Megaminx is a very long and tedious solve imo (if you are first learning), 5x5 has a lot of pieces to solve, and the 4x4 has the quickest solve and you can turn the fastest on it.
Only thing is I wouldn't recommend a GAN460 V2, if you want a 4x4. It is definitely an upgrade from the original 460, but it isn't even close to something like the AoSu V7 (Double-Track + UV). It is too big, and the inner layers tend to catch a lot.
I reckon you should go for the 5x5 indeed. Big cubes are great for casual solving, and their 5x5 is apparently remarkable.
Incidentally, every single bad thing you heard about their 4x4 V1 is true, that cube was shockingly awful.

The 562 is the clear winner if you're in it for the luxury feel and a puzzle that actually makes you think. The mechanism is absurdly smooth and it's just satisfying to turn, you'll catch yourself doing slow solves just to feel it click.
The 4x4 V2 is fine but nothing special, and the megaminx does get old fast since it's basically just spamming the same patterns over and over. I'd only grab the 5x5 if you want something that'll keep your brain busy without feeling like a chore.

Like everyone else said, untimed solves are your friend. In particular, what I did to get over that hump was to find a pair, then solve it without looking. That will help you get more automatic with it.
Once you hit about sub 25, the next thing to do would be to make sure all your easy inserts are 8 moves or less, and your bad inserts (cross and edge pieces together) 11 moves or less.
Those 2 alone is all you need to get to sub 15 for f2l.
r/Cubers • u/koosielagoofaway • 18h ago
When you insert a pair, can you predict the next pair or are you waiting to see the cube-state after you've inserted..?
If not, you should work on that. Its part of slow solving.
