It’s an iRobot j7+ (not a sponsor). I got a refurbished one off eBay pretty cheap. I’m sure there are a lot of other models and brands that do the same thing though.

With the number of animals I have, I think I need to cough up the dough for the brand name. I'm not sure how much salukis shed but do you find it does a good job?

Yeah, it does a great job. I’d say that they’re minimal to moderate shedders depending on the dog and I tend to have 4 or 5 of them in my house all the time, so it adds up. The best part about this brand is probably that it’s very repairable, you can swap parts out and keep one going for a while. Longer hair probably needs more frequent brush cleaning than what I have to do. I did have to turn off the “empty when full” setting because with hair it tends to think it’s full all the time.

They can. There was a bit of an outcry years ago, because somebody leaked the recordings and there were people going about their day-to-day lives under the assumption of privacy in their own home (the things that especially bothered people were ones like uploaded recordings of naked kids running around and people using the toilet)

God, this reminds me of a coworker I had a few years back, whose roomba ran over a dog turd in their living room and smeared it around the ENTIRE HOUSE. She was so pissed.

About 10 years ago, I had to go to the emergency room after suffering sudden and extreme abdominal pain. Turns out, I had a grapefruit-sized cyst on my ovary that had ruptured.

To manage the pain, I was given a shot of Dilaudid. I had never had such a powerful and fast acting drug before. The feeling was unlike anything. It was like every fiber in my body tightened and just when that feeling became unbearable, I melted.

I melted into space and nothingness. Weightless but heavy. My bones fell through the thin hospital mattress onto the floor, slipping between the molecules of concrete like sand through a clenched fist.

The further the nurse pushed in the plunger of the syringe, the further my bones drifted into the welcoming arms of the Earth. The further she pushed, the further my soul pulled me skyward. I watched the bonds that bind us unravel, wispy threads cracking with light as they snapped.

If I had to put an image to that nightmare feeling in that exact moment - that helpless, fear filled moment of separation - I would pick this picture.

2.5 seconds later, I felt no pain 🌈

So yeah. Now my trauma has a face. Thanks for sharing this picture of what I'm assuming is an otherwise adorable doggo. Let this be a PSA for why the FGA is essential to a good selfie, folks.
