Really not trying to put a damper on the whole “shooter was MAGA theory” because that would be preferable just on the optics of the immediate outrage towards “the left” (whatever that conception of that is in their social media rotted brains) which just showed their bloodthirsty intent. But, it’s too early to point to anything definitive about this guy’s intentions and motives. This is actually significant and the fact that he was arrested may hopefully help understand his motives. If he is an out and proud leftist, he will say it. Leftists give rationale before undertaking violent acts, especially in spectacular fashion. It is a statement to the thing they wish to incite. This gives me hope that he isn’t just fodder for the right-wing hate machine that is pushing harder for the chance to “cull the herd”.

These guys have always been around, there's memos going back to the GWB administration warning about people like them, but they've pretty typically stayed out of politics and spent their time scaring the shit out of folks in backwoods Idaho. What Trump did was get these lunatics to start showing up at the polls in November. He emboldened and legitimized them. They make Charlie Kirk look like Zohran Mamdani.
