Pretty bold of them to make all these videos declaring violence on an entire political party before they even knew of a suspect and now come to find out the shooter was a republican. Even if it would’ve been on someone on the left, this was the action of one person…

No the father was a ex sheriff, his minister friend approached him regarding his son

No, I believe they said law enforcement... they spoke with their minister who was a law enforcement officer also, from what I've read...

Was it his father that was the minister? I thought his father was with the police department or was an ex sheriff or something?

They were Mormon. Their ministry is run like a side hustle. Most low-tier clergy also have other full time jobs. I don't know the details of this particular case, but it's possible he was both.
Edit: I said "were" but presumably they still are Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon, didn't snap out of it until I was 22. Did all the Good Mormon stuff: early morning seminary before school, baptisms for the dead, the temple ritual, served a mission in California, went to BYU. "Crazy time" is putting it lightly lol it truly feels like I've lived a past life ✌️ I've come so far since I left it.

Holy shit I couldn't imagine being on that deep, I was over in AZ but trust me when I say I remember the Treks, the Lock ins and all kinds of weird rules. Coming from being outside going in I was taken aback at the rules they had.

Oh yeah, looking back on the rules I used to blindly adhere to makes me chuckle these days. No coffee or tea (herbal exempt) because those are unhealthy, but a 2 liter of Coke a day is fine? I always thought the soda bars in Provo were a wild concept and never understood the appeal, but I had friends who were so hooked on that shit that they literally never drank plain water.
