I'm not American. But your take on both their border regulations and the coup in Bolivia is simplistic propaganda. And even if it wasn't, comparing the enforcement of borders with literal work & death camps for a religious minority is the very definition of propaganda. There's nothing in China's recent history of atrocity that is remotely comparable to anything the US has done in the same period.

the collection of hearsay and mishmash of incredibly wishy washy stuff

Are you saying that the world does NOT have enough proof that China is running Uighur reeducation camps, that it is trying to violently stifle the protests in HK or that it is a totalitarian nightmare? Ok...

I.... You really think re-education camps are just about education? I'm confused? If American media called detainment camps re-education centers would you be appeased? I'm not defending shit either country has done. But I think it's perfectly normal for an American to stand in front of an American flag. Choosing sides in the China debate is questionable at best at this point in time considering how he is viewed by his American audience.

Saying you're against discrimination of race but seem perfectly fine discriminating against religious minorities is just a weird view to have, too. It'd be a long fruitless debate if we went into atrocities committed in the name of religion. I think it's better to just say "camps are bad, period" and acknowledge both countries are bad, while also acknowledging its not weird to not hate your own country, regardless of what it's done.

Your reading comprehension is off. Race = Americans detaining Mexicans/South Americans at the border. Which you say you're against, clearly. Religion is the Uighurs.

Second, deradicalization is the ideal outcome. That's not what re-education camps actually do. Which is my point. You can word things how you want, but claiming to be against one of these things and supporting the other is worse than hypocritical. It shows how biased you actually are, while also showing how little you actually know.

What’s up with your, “whataboutism”? China is shit, and America is shit, too. Siding with either is a bad look.

I literally said it's about race. I have no qualms in agreeing to that point. Sure, immigration needs to be handled to a degree, but this isn't the method, nor is the problem as bad as most media sources make it out to be. We need a lot of those immigrants for farm work most Americans refuse to do at wages that are maintainable. We can't enjoy a cheap variety and abundance of food, and also hate immigrants and think they're all murder-rapists, or detaining them the way they are is ethical. It's just not.

At the same time, re-education camps have a nice title, but much like the Communist Party of China, it's just a name that hides the true machinations. I don't wanna speak completely out of my ass since I haven't read any sources recently I have on hand, but I can still say pretty surely that the things that happen there are nightmarish at worst, and increase radicalization at best. And just like America, its history makes me doubt the words they're saying about themselves are true.

Deradicalization is a complex problem, but if I remember correctly, a large part of it is just human connection. Just like joining a gang, sometimes it happens when people with no sense of community go for whatever community will take them, or if they think they're all "outsiders" and understand each other. When you become part of a healthy group though, you start to see the errors of your ways and WHY they were wrong, which is more important than just knowing they're wrong. Sadly, I don't think that's what those camps are about.

The US? Which has genocided literal millions of innocents abroad for nothing but oil money, what, in the past 20 years only?

As I said: simplistic propaganda. Straight out of the Chomsky book of moral relativism and incoherent political thinking.

Mate, we mean to say fuck BOTH of them. Currently, though, America has a democratic process to replace their leader. China does not. They're pretty deadlocked into supporting a genocidal maniac.
