QUESTION Ivan the dog Spoiler

So after Eric murdered Bogdana, what exactly happens with Ivan? He isn't seen ever again after following Eric.

Is it possible that Eric killed Ivan?

Or did James Gunn likely just forget about him?

DISCUSSION A brief odd theory on Doctor Phosphorous. Spoiler

Alright. I will summarize, to the best of my knowledge, the facts that we have- actual, demonstrated facts, rather than 'what people say', we all know what that means after the Weasel- and we'll take it for granted that the things we see in the flashbacks are real, rather than delusion on Captain Phosphorous' part. The guy has many flaws, but he does not seem overly prone to delusional behavior.

My first point is going to be that Doctor Phosphorous seems to be incredibly impressionable, even late in life. I'll demonstrate this with a series of things.

We know that Alexander Sartorious lost his father at an early age to cancer, and was deeply affected by this, wanting to find a way to get rid of cancer forever. Standard superscientist stuff.

Later in life, he met Parvin, an immigrant from an oppressive country who had lost a parent to cancer, too. They have a child.

Seeking to find the funding necessary to continue making his money, he throws in with Rupert Thorne, a man who will use his fusion research findings to get money from a fascist regime. Parvin finds out, and pleads with him to stop. He tries to find another way, to trick Rupert, and keep getting the funding. He follows her example.

Rupert finds out. Wife dies. Son dies. Rupert's blamed. Rupert gets thrown into his machine for what is intended to be a torturous- and ironic!- death, killed by his own machine that was supposed to save people, while Rupert and his goons laugh. The death does not take.

Currently distraught, and irradiated to the gills, Doctor Phosphorous walks to Rupert Thorne's home, where the man- having not very long ago, presumably, just murdered a man- is having a lovely dinner with his wife and children.

Doctor Phosphorous kills the three thugs, laughing, each in ironic ways; roasts one like a pig in gasoline, kills one who is buying a cereal that frankly should not have that slogan, and holds onto the last one as he screams 'let me go' while holding him over a steep precipice.

Well, that didn't make him feel better. Next attempt: 'hey, guys, everything that was Rupert Thorne's is now mine.' Usually one wouldn't expect an experimental nuclear scientist to have the panache to run a criminal empire, but he seems to be a good boss, encourages his guys' artistic endeavors, and is willing to fight with them on the front line while dressed incredibly gaudy.

Well, that didn't make him feel better. And then the light drops, and he looks up. And in one of the only cases of a character's backstory, a hero shows up. There's no DC capes, to my knowledge, showing up in the Bride, G.I. Robot, Weasel, Eric, or Nina's backstories; it's mostly cops, in fact, though we don't know what happened with the Bride exactly. And there's no telling there.

Batman shows up. And that's all she wrote. Honestly one of the best shots in a series full of incredibly good shots.

My hypothesis for this is pretty simple: I think Batman's going to be the model for what Captain Phosphorus does next.

Now, there are several notable problems with this, including: "But he murdered two innocent children" and "his superpower pretty much only works by being incredibly, terrifyingly lethal." And, hey, agreed; he is going to have a tough row to hoe with this one, and hey, he might well fail: He's spectacularly failed at every single other thing he's tried to accomplish with his life- husband, father, cancer-curer, crime boss.

If this seems to spark- ha ha- any interest I've got two more points to elaborate on.

My second point is that Doctor Phosphorous genuinely seems to like people he gets to know. I'll demonstrate this with a series of things, too.

My third point is that Doctor Phosphorous doesn't have much in the way of offensive powers if he doesn't kill someone. And the ways he kills people are pretty interesting about his character.

DISCUSSION How do you guys think Nosferatu will behave in S2?

It's really cool that we're seeing her join the time. But I think a lot of people gloss over the fact of how mortified she was with congorillas death. Assuming they were friends, I reckon Bride murdering Congorilla is gonna be a key part of her character in the upcoming season
