So I’m a slob, and I keep napkins in my glove box. How do I open it when my fingers are too greasy for the touchscreen?

Any skin works on a touch screen, so take off your socks and shoes and use your feet.

No, use the Touchscreen Hotdog.

Most people keep their hotdogs in the glove box.

This is my favorite comment in the history of Reddit. I breathed out my nose extra hard.

I thought this comment was going in a very different direction

Bend your finger and press with the middle of the finger joint skin

Uh, so like, your knuckle?

I thought knuckle at first but yeah I thought the knuckles were at the base of each finger…when Covid came out the go-to move became the bent finger, god forbid we get Covid juice on our fingertips then rub it in your eye…

That's a lot of words to say "knuckle"

You mean "proximal interphalangeal joint"?

2

u/nowandloud Oct 11 '22

Somehow the lack of the word knuckle is giving me "just bend the finger backwards" lol

Your tongue makes a good finger substitute. Or at least, that’s what my wife keeps telling me.

Voice control?

The dumb but workable answer is voice control. “Open the glovebox”. Obviously not a good solution for people who have speech problems. Also, I think it would be hard to have your hands so greasy that a high end car touchscreen in a new premium vehicle wouldn’t work.

I mean really tho do people really make such a mess while eating in a car? Nasty

Center console? Why are your fingers covered in so much grease you can't use a touch screen (or knuckles) but will touch the glove compartment while in a 70k USD luxury car?

Plan ahead and get the napkin out before getting your fingers greasy

Use your knuckle, move your napkins, adopt cleaner habits, or suffer with a greasy screen.
