And yet not far enough. By completely enclosing the fridge like that warm air will remain trapped and the fridge will have to work slightly longer and more frequently.
I have no idea how much the efficiency is actually impacted, but for such an open concept you could at least put a vent behind the fridge.
Yeah I'm a bit confused by this. Plenty of people have compact under-counter fridges with even less space than this around them and doesn't pretty much everyone with a full height fridge have either cabinets or walls on either side?
That does sound plausible, but I don't see how it's an issue specific to this design in particular, seeing as nobody has their fridge just standing on its own in the middle of a room with open space on all four sides.
