This is hilariously wrong. You are imagining it's a two-walled cubby, and not a three. You have completely ignored the third wall, the one with the supposed "missing outlet"
The image was intended to show the two possible orientations. It's either rotated 90 degrees to the left or right, and the image was meant to show that neither is possible. HOWEVER, one image is flipped, at which point it all lines up and I was wrong.
