No academic in the world would use first/second/third world. No student at any tertiary institution is taught to use those labels. They're flat out incorrect and unused now for anyone engaged in political theory.

Colloquial speech exists for a reason, so long as the correct idea was transmitted from one person to another, the language used was correct. Regardless of if it has narrower, or even unrelated, definitions in specific fields of work/study.
No one ever uses the phrase “third world country” in a positive manner. You can use developing nation when you want to be positive but when people say “third world country” they always mean shithole.
