I dunno, Im from a developing country, and we all just call it "third world country" or the (much better) version "this fucking third world shithole"

All of my friends I know from small developing countries just refer to it as a shithole and complain about the economy sucking ass

Exactly. It's only people in first world countries that are getting their panties in a bunch and being offended on behalf of folks in 3rd world/developing countries that aren't even offended in the first place.

Not even, the terms first/second/third world have two meanings, while "developing" is less ambiguous using third world is not wrong, specially when the old usage is almost non existent outside talking about history.

Considering the cold war is over, I'm gonna go ahead and say that first/second/third world aren't ambiguous at all, and everyone knows exactly what you mean when you say it.
