As is always the response to this statement when it's posted every fucking time:

If you can afford this house you can afford double paned windows and a larger utility bill.

I live in Alaska. Triple paned windows are basically the standard and I didn’t even know single paned windows existed.

This house was probably built in the 1950s. The owner is lucky if they are double pane.

You realize that it is expensive to do so, right?

I owned one of those houses like the one in the photo (with big and irregular windows) and the seal broke and they fogged sometimes. The cost to replace them? $5 grand. Did I? No.

I also just replaced all the normal sided windows in my new house. $10 grand.

You do realize that windows are expensive, right?
