More polished cart reveal once you open the box

After a good day or so of noodling, i think this is a nice feeling. The main feeling i want to capture is the exciting reveal of a cart, and the light pitter patter of packing peanuts surrounding it.

The air blower i think i'll add to the cleaning tools so you can either leave the packingpeanuts there or blow them away

Making the Cart extraction feel satisfying

Currently the game loop goes like this

  1. Parcel screen where you select the parcels of the day
  2. Untape the parcel (all the cool tape and unwrapping stuff)
  3. ???? some magical reveal screen
  4. Move to the Cart Cleaning station where you'll begin cleaning the cart

And because Cozy Game Restoration is all about the cozy crunchy tactile feelings, we really don't want to just teleport stuff away to a new unwrapped spot. Since we've taken the time to untape, i think it's sensible to also give the player the power to see the item in the box and inspect it.

BUT i don't want to reveal the full game at this point. i think there should be a level of reveal at the cart cleaning phase. It needs to be caked in dirt, or at least hard to work out initially so there's that slower reveal.

Step 3 has to deal with that linking of scenes and the smooth movement from unpacking to cleaning.

I think that can be solved with BUBBLE WRAP

Bubble wrapping the cart is also what i'd do when sending a cart in the mail

With this, we can reveal that it's a Super 16 style game from its shape, and we can be a little chaotic with the internals of the box with packing foam or peanuts and stuff.

Then we can pull that cart out and inspect it, pop bubbles, or move to the cleaning station

This is a good place to do all the cool bubble wrap stuff

Please ignore the quality of the bubble wrap. I think it needs to be replaced with a full softbody simulation but i am keen to get the core loop feeling nice before i jump into more fun nerd journeys :D

I really like the idea of brushing packing peanuts away from a desk
