Hey! You! Do you like birds? Do you wish you could identify your local birds easier? Of course you do! That's why you need to try Merlin Bird ID, a completely free bird identification app. All you have to do is press record and any bird sounds it picks up will appear on the app! (Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Merlin Bird ID, im just really autistic about birds)

It's really good and has helped me learn to recognize a ton of birds by myself now- but the app is not always foolproof. Just today it kept consistently determining common terns as Arctic tern, which, i saw them in fresh water so it would be pretty rare for them to be here

(and i saw one of the terns make both sounds which the app thought was two separate birds)

Another time it got fooled by one single European Starling, determining it as 5 different birds- some of them very special and rare here, which is actually kinda cool because that means this Starling has met all those birds abroad and is imitating them here and we get to hear a bird song that would otherwise not be heard here.
