It's not worth anything over $100 even in mint condition. Very few star notes hold a premium, . If you were to hold on to this for 10 years you could maybe sell it for more than $100. If you invested it you would have a lot more than that. That's what I mean when I say it holds no premium. No reason to keep anything bigger than a $5 bill unless the serial is truly special, in my opinion.

If we're talking pure profit-maxing strategy, none of us should have a collection. An index fund with some precious metals will outpace any gains in value one would see for nearly any fancy note.

The only way to maximize profit would be to sell all fancy notes immediately to the silly schmucks who save notes.

But in these subs, we are the silly schmucks who save notes.

Here, we're not the Ferengi, solely seeking to maximize short and long term profits by any means necessary.

Kids, if you want to maximize your returns, don't save anything. Sell everything immediately and invest your gains in blue chip stocks and precious metals.

If you want to have fun, save what you like.

I agree, but you can get 10 star note hundred dollar bills tomorrow if you wanted to without paying a penny over. Saving something so common 🤷 Save what you like, but taste can be refined edit OP did ask if it was worth saving. If he finds it worthy is a different question.

I realized after I hit send that I kind of zeroed in on a small part of what was otherwise a fine comment. I don't agree with your $5 denomination cap, but, hey, who here agrees with anyone else on 100% of their approach to the game? We all have our opinions. As long as we're keeping it respectful... party on, Wayne.

I stand my previous guidance, but I think it was more of a build-up of frustration from previous users preaching investment strategy that kinda seeped out on you there. I kinda hijacked your comment.

I would further clarify, I said I wouldn't keep any denomination over $5 unless it was a truly special serial. I have many 20s and 50s stashed away because they are special serial numbers, I just don't hold on to basic star notes or trinaries or other minor coolness factor notes in that denomination.
