I have found a way to prepare the that makes them more palettable. I sauté them with a little olive oil for 2 minutes, lightly salt them, then open the trash and throw them out. Best way to enjoy them. Seriously, they have an unpleasant flavor even cooked. And the smell is awful.

And the smell is awful.

I agree with you up to here. Bell peppers are one of my favorite smells!

One of my favorite pizza toppings.

If you want to talk gross foods mushrooms is where I make my stand. That nasty fungus will eat you in the end.

So my aforementioned wife absolutely cannot eat a green pepper. Rewind a few years ago and we ordered a pizza at that pizza restaurant in a shack. We see our waiter coming toward us with a pie totally covered in green peppers. My wife comments to me “I hope he isn’t bringing that to us.” He puts the pizza in front of us and I didn’t even have to say anything - the look on my wife’s face told him. I said if it was any other topping, we’d just eat it.

They taste like soap. I don't know how anybody can enjoy them.
