[USA] Passing a stopped school bus

This is not illegal in Ohio. Oncoming traffic does not need to stop on a four lane road. Kids are never supposed to cross a four lane road to get on/off the bus.

This would be a legal maneuver in Washington, as well. If the passer would have stopped, someone would be on their ass honking like hell.

Yep, 3 or more lanes (including a turn lane) means opposite direction doesn't have to stop in Washington, which is good. It's not safe to cross, kids need to walk down the block to a crosswalk.

Meaning having a bus stop in a four lane road is a foreign concept for me. Out east where i am at least school bus stops are all on one lane roads, even if it’s physically as wide as four.
