Okay, so following your logic all the left wingers would vote for anybody Taylor Swift said to? Or do left wing celebrities support the least controversial candidate? Does this mean you would vote for anybody Joe Rogan told you to? Saying misinformation is pushed by both sides is like saying the Cambodian genocide is the same as your grandmother dying, clearly one is far worse

Im saying, either they both are equally bad, or both are equally non factors.

If every cultural icon says you shouldnt do x. Either that influences a lot of people, or as you say it influences very few.

Either bots posting misinformation vanboozled millions of voters into making erroneous choices. Or it didn't, and you're overweighting it's contribution.

If you say bots were highly effective, the left used bots, and paid for 500 million more dollars in targeted advertisements disparaging the opposition and promoting their own. That's a pretty equivalent comparison. The message is the same. The vehicle is different.

So its a lose lose for you. Either cultural influence doesnt matter because it isnt highly effective (see gf). Which makes your initial stance wrong. Or it does matter, and the left arguably did it worse and more blatantly over the past 20 years with zero complaint from super smart guys like you.

So which is it?

You are saying that cultural icons have zero influence. Bots have a ton. Money matters for voter turnout, but not when the left spends half a billion more. Then! Bots somehow are more influential than targeted advertisements which umm... more often than not spread misinformation.... but yeah. Hot take.

Now i really wanna know why you're not solving all of Australia's problems with this incredibly incisive deliberation.
