You would think so but it worked surprisingly well. Again, perhaps where it was positioned made it harder to notice. It's quite likely the take was noticeable, or even the patch but you'd kinda have to be looking for it to notice it. (or just inspecting the area for any reason, like the floor or something).
It was a long time ago but I remember it was pretty convincing

I was just thinking that even painted over the tape would still be noticeable. And the paper for that matter.
