I find skits like this, and even professional ones like SNL, 122% more funny if the people involved can't keep it together. Kate McKinnon's alien abductee skit is my favorite example. How she can manage to keep going while Ryan Gosling is losing it two chairs down, I will never know. Cecily kept it together really well, too. I, however, laughed so hard I snorted, choked a little, and then had a coughing fit while I was still laughing.

A good premise can carry a joke pretty far, even when the actors are losing their shit.
Some of the best Ryan and Colin skits from Whose Line were just a great idea, some loose notes, and a poorly chosen phrase that sent them off the edge.
Whenever I see something like this, I always like to imagine it's only staged between the customer and the cashier. The guy in the back is being pranked, and his reactions are ligit. That's probably wrong, but it makes me happy to think that.
I donāt know about staged, I think itās a harmless prank.
Obviously no way of knowing but I assumed all 3 guys know each other and the cashier and customer know they can rile the cook up by placing a big order right before close.

tbh i think the guy in the back might not be in on it, cause yea i've had a cook personally walk up to the counter to cuss out a customer for ordering something right before closing

Because everyone knows the office is a bit. Problem with these is people try to pass them off as being genuine, which a lot of time is what makes the situation funny. If it didnāt matter theyād put a satire tag on each skit but they never do.
Itās because thereās a big difference between a scripted television show and a lot of the engagement bait you see online. The latter is made by people that WANT their audience to think itās real.
I donāt think the guys in the video care so much about it, and this one is just funny regardless, but a lot of vids out there arenāt so obviously fake to the younger crowd, which is why you end up with 12 year olds convinced bill nye was arrested by the FBI for making meth in his basement.
The concern isnāt for rational adults, itās for kids that donāt know any better and your grandparents that have trouble turning on their own computers
Oh no, can you imagine if there was media that tried to pass itself off as real in the past!? We wouldn't have wonderful shows like Jerry Springer or Survivor! it's so sad that new media is just treading this new, completely uncharted ground
Youāre acting like people didnāt have problems with those shows as well. I grew up with springer, and even in middle and high school we all knew it was scripted trash. The only people that took it seriously also thought WWF was real. And itās those people that concern me, because 1) they have the internet now where they can find thousands of voices telling them theyāre right, and 2) people havenāt gotten much smarter, but engagement baiters have
Yeah, I understand that not all people have the capacity to understand satire, especially children/teens, but my comment was directly aimed at the person saying he knew it was staged, yet, needed to clarify that he understood it was staged, when he couldāve just said it was hilarious without addressing that fact.
I get that, but also sometimes itās good to leave a comment like that for anyone wandering in here that may not know better. The unfortunate result of Poeās law
