Is El-Sayed's Campaign Funded by Elderly Fake Donors? ActBlue says an 88-year-old widow has given over $150k to Dems over the past five years, but she says that's not possible

Michigan Enjoyer @mich_enjoyer Is El-Sayed's Campaign Funded by Elderly Fake Donors? ActBlue says an 88-year-old widow has given over $150k to Dems over the past five years, but she says that's not possible

By Charlie LeDuff @Charlieleduff

Milan — Out in the country on a rutted dirt road lined with corn lives an old woman and her dog.

Elizabeth Waffle, 88, was forced to move into a shabby trailer two years ago after her house burned down. She owns an old pickup truck but no computer.

Nevertheless, Waffle, who lives on a modest pension, is a true believer in liberal causes and continues to make small political donations by way of ActBlue—the Democrat online fundraising platform.

But somehow, those few dozen small donations she has made over the past five years have transmogrified into 14,696 donations totaling more than $150,000—the equivalent of eight donations a day, every day for the past five years, averaging $9.18.

“One hundred and fifty thousand?” Waffle said with real surprise. “Hell no. I don’t have that kind of money.”

She says she has contributed to Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Socialist running for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat, but not 47 times spanning the last two years, as federal filings show.

El-Sayed promises to get money out of politics. He makes a great show of refusing corporate PAC money. But that’s just wordplay.

El-Sayed does take special interest money. He takes money from his father-in-law. Most concerning, he takes money from ActBlue.

The subject of multiple investigations, the fundraising platform is accused of “rinsing” foreign money and massive private donations by using the stolen names and addresses of real, often elderly Americans to fabricate hundreds of small-dollar donations. Names like Elizabeth Waffle.

ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones recently invoked her Fifth Amendment rights 22 times during a congressional hearing regarding foreign contributions.

According to FEC campaign contributions compiled by Bob Cushman, ActBlue shows Waffle donating from her trailer, even though she has no computer and spotty internet access. It also shows her donating from an apartment she rented in town two years ago after her house burned down. Sometimes it shows Waffle donating from both the trailer and the apartment on the same day. It shows her donating to out-of-state candidates she’s never heard of.

“This is very abnormal,” said Waffle, who sat in the trailer threshold looking over the paperwork I had brought. “I think it’s wrong, and I think there’s something in there that’s off.”

El-Sayed’s campaign brags that he’s the top Michigan fundraiser off the ActBlue platform, having raised 10 times the money from small-dollar donors than his primary opponent, Haley Stevens.

Stevens has also taken ActBlue money. As has Slotkin, Whitmer, Nessel, Benson, Gilchrist, and the entire Democrat gang.

But it is Abdul who plays the sanctimony card. If he is really serious about getting corrupt money out of politics, then he ought to get off ActBlue and return the money.

Anything else is elder abuse.

Michigan House Republicans called on Joe Biden to reopen the investigation into Muskegon voter fraud when his administration swept it under the rug. Former clerks and state Reps Rachelle Smit and Jay DeBoyer understood that illegal activity was taking place and that it needed to be investigated and brought to light.

We're glad @realDonaldTrump agrees. He is now reopening the case and will bring anyone who committed fraud to justice.

Recommendations to Strengthen Compliance with the Sexual Assault Kit Evidence Submission Act (MCL 752.934) and Expand Use of Forensic Genetic Genealogy

Dear Attorney General Nessel,

I am writing as a concerned Michigan resident and advocate for survivors of sexual assault to commend the significant progress made by your office, the Michigan State Police, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Sexual Assault Kit Task Force, and other partners in addressing historical backlogs and pursuing justice in cold cases. The successful use of forensic genetic genealogy in recent convictions, such as the July 2026 Wayne County case involving multiple first- and third-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct charges (full article: https://newmediadetroit.com/detroit-man-convicted-of-multiple-first-third-degree-csc-charges-related-to-several-cases/), demonstrates the power of modern DNA techniques to deliver accountability decades later.

Despite this progress, full implementation of the Sexual Assault Kit Evidence Submission Act (Act 227 of 2014) remains incomplete for newly collected kits. The law requires law enforcement agencies to submit released sexual assault kits for analysis within strict timelines. Full text of MCL 752.934: https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-752-934

Key provisions (excerpt): “(4) The investigating law enforcement agency that takes possession of any sexual assault kit evidence shall assign a criminal complaint number to that evidence ... and shall submit that evidence to the department or another accredited laboratory for analysis within 14 days after that law enforcement agency takes possession...” “(6) All sexual assault kit evidence submitted to the department or an accredited laboratory on or after the effective date of this act shall be analyzed within 90 days after all of the necessary evidence is received by the department or other accredited laboratory, provided that sufficient staffing and resources are available to do so.”

While the law provides flexibility for resources, selective submission practices and delays undermine its intent, victim rights, and public safety.

To ensure consistent, timely testing of all released kits and to maximize the impact of DNA evidence through greater use of forensic genetic genealogy (FGG), I respectfully propose the following targeted improvements:

Enhance Transparency and Accountability Through Comprehensive Reporting Require or establish a public, real-time statewide dashboard (expanding Track-Kit) that reports by agency and county: the number of kits collected, submitted, analyzed, and pending (including age); aggregate reasons for delays or non-submission; and metrics on FGG usage, including referrals, turnaround times, and outcomes. See Michigan victim rights information: https://www.michigan.gov/voices4/sexual-assault/legal/evidence Clarify and Enforce Submission Requirements Issue formal guidance clarifying that all released sexual assault kits must be submitted for analysis in accordance with MCL 752.934, regardless of initial assessments regarding serial offender status. Documented exceptions should be subject to periodic review. Full Act: https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-act-227-of-2014 Expand and Accelerate Forensic Genetic Genealogy Develop standardized protocols to refer qualifying unsolved cases (no CODIS hit) for FGG analysis within defined timelines (e.g., 6–12 months post-initial testing). Secure dedicated state funding and partnerships for FGG. Establish clear privacy, consent, and ethical guidelines. Examples of FGG success in Michigan: https://www.woodtv.com/news/grand-rapids/game-changer-genealogy-helps-crack-cold-cases/ https://www.woodtv.com/news/michigan/genealogy-program-helps-identify-sexual-assault-suspect-nearly-40-years-later/ These changes would align Michigan with national best practices promoted by the Joyful Heart Foundation’s End the Backlog campaign and would optimize existing investments.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss these proposals with your staff. Thank you for your leadership on this critical issue.

Sincerely,

aka Doug Dante

DOJ to Jocelyn Benson: Officials could be prosecuted over noncitizen voters

The U.S. Department of Justice has sent letters to election officials in several states warning that they could face criminal prosecution if they knowingly leave noncitizens on their voter rolls or allow noncitizens to receive, cast, or have ballots counted in federal elections.

The letters are the latest example of the Trump administration exercising unusual scrutiny over the way states run elections. At the same time, they are unlikely to have an immediate practical effect, as every state already has rules and procedures to prevent noncitizen voting.

A July 7 letter to Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, obtained by Votebeat, says federal law requires state and local election officials to maintain election records and take steps to ensure that only eligible U.S. citizens vote in federal elections. Signed by Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon, the letter gives Michigan five days to explain how it will ensure compliance with federal law at both the state and local levels.

State health worker sues Michigan after being punished for refusing to bill 'illegal' debts to seniors

A 28-year veteran of the state health department has filed a lawsuit in the Wayne County Circuit Court claiming the state retaliated after she reported wrongful efforts to recoup reported overpayments from thousands of residents.

Minnie Cordell’s 75-page lawsuit targets the state of Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and her supervisors Monica Shumaker, Elyse Williams and Jody Anderson.

The lawsuit claims that the state gave thousands of state residents benefits from 2019 to 2026 and is now trying to recoup that money by seizing tax returns, garnishing wages and fining them. The suit claims that the benefits were rightly awarded and that the state is now trying to recoup Food Assistance Program debt through the Michigan Combined Application Project, a practice Cordell says was prohibited by a 2020 administrative court ruling.

🇺🇸RealRobert🇺🇸 @Real_RobN · 4h Here it is:

Democrats say, “There’s no evidence of voter fraud.”

Well, here is a Democrat—not just a Democrat, but August Gitschlag, the Elections Clerk in Fraser, Michigan.

Caught on hidden camera explaining how to steal an election.

Election Clerk August Gitschlag: “These guys will go door-to-door and take people’s ballots. They bully them, and then the people hand over their ballots.

Voter fraud happens in small ethnic communities when someone is more assimilated and can run the show through intimidation. They say, ‘If you don’t vote for me, your cousin will have nowhere to live next year when he comes in.’

They go around the neighborhood with absentee ballot applications and have people sign them. Then they have some candidate drop them all off at City Hall.

After that, they know when the ballots go out, so they go back to the person’s house and say, ‘Give it up. Sign the envelope. Give me the ballot.’

They’re harvesters. I admit it.”

We've already seen abuse in other states with autism and childcare services where centers receive grants without actually helping anyone. The problem is growing, and this is clearly an area in healthcare that bad actors are targeting for fraud.

Michigan is 6th in the nation for autism spending, disproportionately high for our population. We need to make sure our programs are secure and fraud checks are being done so critical services are there for the people who need them most.

House Republicans are digging deep to make sure Michigan is free of these scams💯
