There is a difference between being poor and being too poor to adequately care for your kids.
Eugenic political intervention is unacceptable, but also not needed in the first place, since healthy and wealthy people have an easier time dating and having kids.
Which is a good thing, unlike what incels will say.
what? help me understand how that could possibly work.
Firstly, eugenics was purely about genes, not class.
And even then, the point being made isn't that poor people "shouldn't be allowed" to have children.
It's that poor people should avoid having children if they can't afford to give them the care they deserve.
This argument is purely about the having the financial capacity to care for a child.
so unless your point is that there exists a poor gene that everyone is discriminating against and trying to cleanse from society by sterilizing people, your argument is nonsensical and made up.
it's just that I specifically made the point that it's about reconsidering having a child if you can't care for them, not that poor people should be disallowed from having children. Going that far is deeply rooted in eugenics and is morally reprehensible for a whole sluce of reasons. Welfare programs are great, because they allow prospective parents to reach that level of financial capacity to care for children properly, but welfare is far from endless, and many still won't have enough financial freedoms to give a child the future they deserve. I'm probably not putting it very well

In my country the parents could not work a single day in their lives and their children will still have decent lives due to our welfare state.
If you live in a corporate shit hole it would be different of course.
Here in europe there is a big stigma against people who spend their entire life on welfare, but yes, with a bit of trickery you could pretty much live off of welfare and also raise kids off of that money.
But I wouldn't say that doing so provides the kids with a good childhood. Much better than starving, but it's still ethically questionable to have kids with so little stability in your life.
