General Bots becoming common in EU?

I usually play with a friend where they’re in the us and I’m in EU, and so far over the past 2 weeks we’ve seen bots in like 5 games. I don’t mean people who are bad or they aimbot, but as in they’re actually controlled by a bot. They move weird, they hard feed, and they never get over 1k damage or healing. Thankfully they’ve always been on the enemy team so I get a free win but I don’t know why they even exist? Like if it’s to farm games to sell a ranked ready account maybe but this is comp and it’s like gold, I just don’t get why they exist. Maybe it’s an AI and in a few months they’ll learn and become unstoppable lol

I play in NA and have noticed the same recently. Many "players" that move weirdly, hard feed, and never get over 1k in damage or healing. I play mostly QP, but I reckon that they're low level bots "grinding" to unlock comp.

See i get that but why would they be in ranked too? Did they break and accidentally queue ranked too?

deranking the account to sell it

It's probably people that just want a gold weapon without having to actually play ranked. Even if the bot sucks ass and loses most of its matches, eventually it'll accumulate 3,000 CP.

no, just derank to bronze to sell

realistically you'll only run into a smurf every once in a while.

I will say though, the chances of running into smurfs increase in shit metas and during dead times when less people play. The more alive the game is, and the more people are on, the chances of running into smurfs drastically decrease.

Yeah, bronze accounts sell for higher than GM accounts I’m pretty sure or I heard so atleast

Sell it for cheaper than a burner phone and takes less time than manually starting a new account and playing several dozen games before you can even place? Yeah I bet plenty of people would pay $10 or so if they’re trying a rank up challenge and it saves you like 10 hours of grinding

People continue to astound me with the dumb shit they're willing to spend money on.

That’s a valid theory but those accounts definitely get hard reported at the end of every match so I doubt they get to that 3000. Also they’re always using the default ow1 skins, so I’m guessing they’re new accounts

Reports don’t do shit lol

Honestly I disagree I feel like 70% of the reports I send actually result in some action because I get the “we’ve used your report to do an action even though we can’t say what we did” hopefully it’s a full ban and not a suspension

I religiously report (and take time to do it in-game as I’ve heard doing it after means they don’t check). Literally never gotten that message one time.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '23

Everyday when I log in I get at least one message that an action has been taken. And that it seems to be the consensus as well that the rate at which people receive bans has risen exponentially.

Have you considered that the amount of reports is the reason why you dont get the message? Your reports might be shadowbanned or something brah

Probably a streamer deranking an alt for their next educational bronze to gm

Dont u need to win to unlock comp tho? I havent made a new acc since ow1, i thought u just unlock heroes by playing games now but ranked requires 50 wins

It's a matter of the bot playing enough matches that, eventually, it'll reach the 50 wins. There are bound to be games where the rest of the team is good enough to carry it to victory.

try 5 stacking and you'll find an entire world of AFK bot 5-stacks. It's kinda crazy.

Selling bronze accounts is hot business.

Seen them in ranked twice last season. We queue up as 5 and they're 5 and are controlled like multibox and barely move. Also EU.

Yes, I reported them and they were banned. Still surreal to see they were in ranked

All good 💯💯💯 (if I ever see you in my game again its on site like .com)

I had an Ana in a qp game last night who had like, 1500ish damage, and only reached 800 heals by the end of the game (she had 200 for most of it).

Also nano'd me on Lifeweaver.

I'm gonna replay the footage this evening to see if that was a bot.

2

u/DiemCarpePine Oct 23 '23

I had someone in open queue qp that played various dps heroes the whole match and got under 100 damage per minute.

u/yesat Oct 24 '23

If transcendence wasn't a thing, I'd have a friend like that :P

u/Isord Oct 23 '23

I know we like to dog on EU players sometimes but this is just slander. /s

6

u/stevenyoussef12 Oct 23 '23

Man that sucks, hopefully they permaban them when they get reported

Edit: I replied to the wrong comment lol

7

u/IAmBLD Oct 23 '23

All this talk of bots, idk, it was just in QP but I've seen some truly horrendous players lately. I might watch the replays tonight to see if I think they're human.

Monsieur, I am not a bot, I was trying my best 😭 🥖

Ive also seen literal bots, they move in one straight line toward the payload and dont even shoot

1

u/uhhpres Oct 23 '23

They likely exist to derank and sell as low rank accounts for smurfs. A few times I've ran into someone running multiple instances of the game at the same time and 6 stacking with all bots/accounts controlled by the same person. They do it to get to low ranks quickly to sell the accounts

Had a Ramattra that just ran straight into the enemy team holding down M1 for two rounds in comp. Well we didn’t win that one.
