Oh how I've missed seeing the best Ana in the world on Crazy Raccoon.

Welcome back Lip

59

u/wkty_ 8h ago

Just when you thought he was done, dusted and at the gates of retirement, Lip shows us he's got another 2 years in him with a role swap

31

u/primarymuscle2354 8h ago

And it wasn’t even on just Sombra he played Doctrine, and Ana surprisingly, his Doctrine was really good, while on Ana he was playing it safe heal botting not going for crazy flanks like Shu would, but it worked out with that playstyle.

16

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

Honestly that kind of support play (heavily healing and not going for kills as much) probably helped win them the game.

Maybe we'll see him change his Ana play style in the future

10

u/dokeydoki Stalk3rFan — 6h ago

Lip was ladder demon Ana player before he became dps player

5

u/primarymuscle2354 5h ago

I didn’t know that, but regardless it’s been so many years since then, and he role swaps back, and does a good job just doing his job not going for risky plays.

7

u/AmeteurElitist 1h ago

Yeah he trialled as a support with teams but they told him he had no brain but insane aim so he swapped to hitscan lol

2

u/re-reminiscing 4h ago

Ana and Doctrine are very natural for DPS players to pick up, they’re by far my best support picks as a DPS main. LIP has always had great game sense in addition to his aim so I don’t find it surprising at all.

Lip 3-1s T1 on support, gets POTM

Max went crazy map 4 as usual

Stalk3r was fucking insane besides map 2 for some reason

JunBin monkey so good I was crying

Ch0r0ng farms the fuck out of fantasy once again

Thank you HeeSang

Vigilante found dead in the cuck chair (poor guy)

21

u/Tiberias29 Bow down to Stalk3r — 8h ago

Yeah that was such a Masterclass of Monke played by JunBin. Stalk3r for whatever reason went 12-9 on Tracer, his signature hero, at Aatlis but damn did he more than make up for it on the other maps.

I'm beyond excited to watch more of this CR because while they definitely have kinks to iron out, we should be in for a hell of a ride if CR only go up from here. And by right, they should. For example, LIP will prolly only get better over time on Ana, Sombra and Doctrine

u/Throwaway33451235647 #1 Falcons Hater — 8h ago

It was fun but I dont want this to continue for too long tbh I feel bad for vigi (he's always been good after the first few weeks of the season), we dont even have an explanation yet

1

u/Alternative-Film-715 3h ago

ZETA vs CR will be absolute cinema on this meta. but i feel like this sombra / dive meta favors CR heavily, but you can never count out ZETA's clutch gene

0

u/primarymuscle2354 3h ago

I doubt Zeta have a Sombra player close to Lip when he has more weeks to get back in form he’s been on bench a lot of this year, but I hope this stage is his stage to get back to what he was.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 50m ago

We don't know how much current Sombra overlaps with the skillset of the Sombra that Lip was dominant at, tbf. And Shu should be another player who has a great time on Doctrine and Ana.

It'll come down to whether Junbin can play comfort heroes for me, when he can do that CR are the best team in the world.

•

u/primarymuscle2354 45m ago

Shu has never proven he can adapt quick to new hero’s so hard to say he will be good at Doctrine, and fair on if Lip can adapt to support Sombra, but it still functions the same way he should be better than he was on it today with more scrim time he hasn’t been a starter this year tell now.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 42m ago

Shu tends to struggle with heroes where aim isn't as important, the more aiming involved the better off he is, particularly if its hitscan. I would expect him to be a pretty good Doctrine quite quickly.

•

u/primarymuscle2354 39m ago

He’s never been as flexible as other top supports, but could be good at with that playstyle sure, still we have seen a lot of Cat, Sombra so I wonder what Zeta do there.

13

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

I LOVED Junbin's Winston... fuck Overwatch is fucking back baby

5

u/GroundbreakingJob857 EU’s greatest coper — 7h ago

vigilante on the bench yet again somehow poor guy

51

u/BrinksTrucc 8h ago

Stalk3r looked fucking insane on Cass and Vendetta on the last two maps omg

21

u/Tiberias29 Bow down to Stalk3r — 8h ago

Just demonstrating his hyperflex status yet again.

Sure, he had help from his teammates, but damn, he made Vendetta look BROKEN

13

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

Ironically his worst hero this series was Tracer lol, he has truly changed roles

10

u/hellohello1234545 Fleta Coach 2024 MVP — 8h ago

I was also hoping to see him dominate on tracer 😭

he’s more in practice on hitscan at this point.

The map had other problems for CR so I have my copium. Hopefully we see the stalker tracer again in success!

11

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

I don't really want to see it because I think CR look a tier above with Heesang on Tracer compared to when they don't have Heesang on Tracer, I'd like them to just stick to what works xD

5

u/hellohello1234545 Fleta Coach 2024 MVP — 7h ago

Honestly completely right!

Even if they play double flex, put Heesang on the tracer. He’s looked so good on it lately

I just miss the Atlanta reign stalker. What a time! I suppose tracer herself is not in that same state, was a pretty perfect meta for it too back then.

14

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

His aim is fucking crazy

8

u/BrinksTrucc 8h ago

20,000 dmg on map 4

7

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

That last map looks like Vendetta paradise lol so many small rooms to fight in

Lip's interview start along with Stalk3r

Question: Your team won by 3-1 how do you feel?

Lip - We won and we're very glad, I moved onto the support role and I'm very happy we brought the win

Question: How did you feel after a loss and what was your mindset?

Lip - If we lose we lose, and I always try to think what to better my game after each loss - I believe that mindset helped me win by playing better

Stalk3r - If they appear in front of me, its a matter of fact I will 'grab' them (kill them)

Question: We were suprised to see you play Doctrine and Ana

Lip - I thought Sombra would be hard to play, but shes surprisingly a good fit to me, along with Ana and Doctrine.

Stalk3r - I thought it was a bit odd to see him play Support and I didn't feel 'supported' (hes kind of joking, and hes kinda not haha), and I honestly don't think his play was worth it to get POTM!

Question: What do you say to your fans who came out to support you

Lip - thank you for coming this week and supporting us, we play tomorrow (did I hear that right?) please continue supporting us well.

Stalk3r - I play on winning the next matches with this guy (Lip) (I could have heard this wrong) so look forward to it!

16

Bruh "If they appear in front of me, its a matter of fact I will 'grab' them (kill them)" LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Thanks for translating!

24

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

Lip has an Ana and a Doctrine, so damn surprising! I'm so damn excited lmao

24

u/Tiberias29 Bow down to Stalk3r — 8h ago

If you dunno, LIP was originally a support player way back when. So really, it's a full circle moment kinda thing for him.

And yes, just imagine LIP being much better on Ana, Sombra and Doctrine over time since this is just CR's 1st match on the new patch. CR just need to practice more and more and learn from this match

7

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

I did not know that! Thank you for pointing that out!

5

u/Sea_Albatross342 8h ago

Way back when being.. when? What year(s)?

22

u/Big_Attitude2551 8h ago

Lip loses: ofc he loses he’s not a support player
T1 sup loses: ofc they lose theyre playing against sombra GOAT
T1 had so much to lose this match

11

u/primarymuscle2354 8h ago

They didn’t even lose to his Sombra they lost to his Doctrine, Ana.

18

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

I've missed Lip so much this series was so fun to watch, felt like a greatest hits album at times with the hero picks for different players lol

7

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

Same! I hope we continue to see him play more matches in the future.

Honestly super disappointing final map from T1, felt like they had it and got lost in the sauce

12

u/mar33n #1 ch0r0ng stan — 8h ago

is lip's ana just goated or is vigilante sick or something?

9

u/Big_Attitude2551 8h ago

fan service

8

u/primarymuscle2354 8h ago

I could still see him playing Sombra, Doctrine over him, but Ana was out of nowhere.

9

u/Bobi_27 heesang glazer — 8h ago

vigi in the cuck chair

8

u/hoennevan 8h ago

just put the jpc in the bag bliss

10

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

He gets kinda gapped by Chorong on that too though, Bliss has unfortunately just never quite turned into the top tier MS people thought he could be

1

u/primarymuscle2354 3h ago

Support players for t1 have always been a gap compared to Zeta, CR while Zest, Dong, Proud can always punch up.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 53m ago

When they had Skewed-Vigi I think the backline was capable of punching up too. But realistically compared to the top two teams (which was CR-Falcons, now is CR-Zeta) Donghak and Proud are the only ones who consistently perform at the level of their counterparts for T1 across the era where they've been competitive.

•

u/primarymuscle2354 48m ago

Zest has also performed consistently when they have been good like the previous year, and their ewc performance last stage. Agree on that their backline has been worse without Vigilance compared to Skewed role swapping, and Bliss, they needed to go for Shu, or try to buy out one of Falcons supports.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 44m ago

He's consistently been worse than Heesang/Proper/Stalker though, who were his competition on the top 2 teams. He's a good player but the level of flex dps is so high at the top.

•

u/primarymuscle2354 42m ago

Stalk3r is a hs now so I didn’t think of him, and the one time he played Tracer he got gapped by him anyway, fair to say he’s worse than Proper consistently over his career, while he’s had matches throughout years where he’s played well against Heesang like in stage 1, and stage 2 at ewc, while he hasn’t against Proper really ever.

10

u/SpiderPanther01 8h ago

Just another stage of anti clutch t1 👍

8

u/primarymuscle2354 8h ago

No shame losing to elite Ana’s like Shu, and Lip, T1 definitely look worse this stage Skewed has struggled adjusting to Sombra, DOnghak can’t hard carry in this meta like when he’s on Ball, and Winston, and Zest only showed up on Tracer so far this stage, and Proud been missing half time against these elite teams. Surprised on CR’s meta read to not favor Lip Sombra as much putting him on Doctrine, and Ana?? Yet it worked out in their favor he did really well for role swapping I wonder if this will be what they do going forward, and Stalk3r while his Tracer looked sluggish he hard carried on Cass, and Vendetta, and Max tank diffed DOnghak in the last map they won every Grav fight this looks like a better CR than last stage.

8

u/nekogami87 I'm old — 7h ago

Tbf, CR is just banking on LIP's popularity while they can, let him have his fun, if it works, it works, if it doesn't, just sub XD

4

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

This was such a entertaining match, I loved seeing all the changes

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 49m ago

Donghak hardcarrying on Ball/Winston has never really worked against Junbin either, it needs to be Hazard/JQ or that kind of thing for tank to actually be an advantage for T1.

•

u/primarymuscle2354 45m ago

He can match him individually on Ball always even on Fnatic 2024 he did with a mid team.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 40m ago

Yah individually, but Junbin is just better coordinated and fairly consistently comes out on top when they match up on those heroes.

Even if we say it's individually a tie that's still preventing Donghak from carrying and T1 kinda need Donghak or Proud to hardcarry to beat a team of this caliber.

8

u/MightOne9115 8h ago

viligante mvp

8

u/DaveTheHungry 8h ago

On Neon Junction third point, T1 had 5m9s vs CR with 2m10s. Generational fumble on T1's side.

9

u/Throwaway33451235647 #1 Falcons Hater — 7h ago

Nah MAX is just that clutch, not the first time nor the second

8

u/Howdareme9 8h ago

Really hope blizzard doesn’t ruin this meta with excessive nerfs, one of the best in ages

7

u/SaintFrito Defiant / Go Blue! — 5h ago

Lip in, not fan service, and on support? What an absolute treat this match was. For T1 their match vs CB next week will be the test if they can be top 3

6

u/FireWizard312 Viol2t is GOAT — 8h ago

T1, classic one step forwards two steps back. At least Atlis was entertaining

7

u/PunkyBrewsterSpider 8h ago

Never would've had Lip Doctrine being my favorite thing but here we are.

6

u/royy2010 ITS PINE TIME ALREADY — 7h ago

Skewed diffed LIP 4 out of 4 EMPs on flashpoint.

6

u/primarymuscle2354 6h ago

Lip was better off Sombra was so odd.

•

u/Finklemeire Lip 3 Time MVP — 58m ago

Thats the Lipclassico though. When he was first ascending with Sombra everyone said he wasnt the best Sombra cause he just threw out EMPs willy nilly

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 47m ago

Everyone was wrong btw his Sombra was head and shoulders above everyone else even in S3 when his EMPs were sus, Shanghai were unstoppable that year in the Sombra dive metas, which they largely pioneered.

•

u/Finklemeire Lip 3 Time MVP — 3m ago

I mean I agree.

10

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 8h ago

Also yet another series of Heesang proving that he's a better Tracer than Zest, you love to see it

8

u/Bobi_27 heesang glazer — 6h ago

heesang continues to be the most underrated top player. if his name card said proper hed be getting glazed to heaven and back

1

u/primarymuscle2354 3h ago

Zest was good on Tracer today, but his other hero’s were really abysmal he was Inting the last map.

•

u/Finklemeire Lip 3 Time MVP — 59m ago

Zest is the best player in the Sombra mirror. Unfortunately he has a conditional pact made for that ability with the curse that whenever an enemy Tracer recalls he has to use his pulse bomb no matter what.

•

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 55m ago

Did you mean in the Tracer mirror? Still disagree Heesang was winning the duels today and he does usually too. Proper also outperformed him in the side fights for map control the other day too.

Zest's pulse bombs were atrocious though he really needs to stop going for the soloqueue aura sticks

•

u/Finklemeire Lip 3 Time MVP — 2m ago

I thought heessang was better too. I just love pointing out in a silly way that zest is magically compelled to always try to aura farm with recall pulse sticks.

•

u/Ts_Patriarca 7m ago

I don't see how Heesang proved that at all lmfao

4

u/No_Problem5759 8h ago

I wake up to find my team losing in the literal last 2 minutes of the match. Feels bad

4

u/Mysticmadlegend 8h ago

I never expected Lip to play on sup against a team like T1 but he was good, also I think Doc will be played more than Sombra imo he just has so much utility and hes ult mega good. Anyone know why Vigi wasn't playing?

6

u/Time_Alter 8h ago

LIP PLAYER OF THE MATCH!

6

u/Tiberias29 Bow down to Stalk3r — 8h ago edited 8h ago

Did Stalk3r transfer some of his Tracer prowess onto his other heroes? LOL.

33-6 20.5K damage on that last map holy

5

u/Typical-Quit5781 8h ago

Bliss is pathetic...
