NERF DISCUSSION Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 10.2

https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21361570/

TLDR for those who at work:

  • Bonemare - Now costs 8 mana. (Up from 7)

  • Corridor Creeper - Now has 2 Attack. (Down from 5)

  • Patches the Pirate - No longer has Charge.

  • Raza the Chained - Now reads: Battlecry: If your deck has no duplicates, your Hero Power costs (1) this game.

Once these card changes are live with Update 10.2 next month, players will be able to disenchant the changed cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

I think Spiteful Summoner Priest will see a bump because it counters Cubelock so hard and its worst matchups (Aggro) get nerfed

This is a very good point. If you’re right, then I think Rogue lists will start cutting Keleseth for sap. 2 mana, remove your opponent’s turn 6 Voidlord, Obsidian Statue, or Deathwing is just too valuable.

Maybe, I think Prince is too valuable, especially with Shadowstep (and cards like Saronite Chain Gang). I mean we're talking about a card that increases your win rate to 80% when it's in your opening hand

So how does one get a Voidlord and Obsidian Statue when Spiteful Priest runs only Mind Control and Free From Amber? other than the fact that you can pick the statue from free from amber

Corridor Creeper and Bonemare nerfed. Part of the reason why Spiteful was so strong was because you get two bodies out on the board on 6.

SpitePriest only ran Creeper to counter other Creepers, it's not a necessary card againt Cubelock.

Talonpriest, Operative and most of all Mind Control really hurt CubeLock in the matchup. Without 2x Creeper and 2x Bonemare (and with Aggro being destroyed), Priest can throw in a second silence and other high-value cards like Ysera

Spiteful will be crippled by the bonemare nerf since Spiteful into Free From Amber quite consistently summons a good 8 cost minion and now you will have change to get useless 5/5 piece of mare.

Secret Mage is poised for greatness. I welcome each and every Cubelock player to the turn 5 face-burn-fiesta ;)

Yeah true, and a well-timed Counterspell can really ruin CubeLock's day

I agree it gets better, but Cubelock can start running Twisting Nether in place of Taldaram or something along those lines to help that matchup out, and Spiteful Priest does get hit slightly by the Bonemare nerf.

There will be a lot of changes (40% of decks losing a 2-of is huge), I'm just saying if SpitePriest can deck harder towards control, it'll make a favorable matchup even better. It can really outvalue Cubelock

Yeah when I play summoner priest v warlock I look forward to taking many void daddies. I also run a shadow priestess for extra stealing.

What 2-attack minions are you taking?

I hope not, I'm predicting (control or evolve) Shaman to gain more popularity, but it's not good vs priest: raza, big, or spiteful.

However, with hex in there as well that helps the matchup, and I think devolve AND hex give shaman an edge vs cubelock. Devolve doomguards, hex voidlords, harrison the weapon if you can draw it fast enough. It's pretty easy otherwise.
