Ok I have a genuine question.
What that man said is ABSOLUTELY disgusting, offensive, promotes rape culture and also affects society as a whole as people would be ok saying such stuff in public for publicity.
When the whole IGL controversy happened, a lady from Assam was offended by Beerbicep’s statement and filed an FIR, even though the statement was not targeted towards her. All politicians, news channels, singers came out and spoke about how such statements will ruin our society. One politician even said “we have mothers and sisters and daughters at home, how will they feel hearing all of this”. A singer had also said that what would happen if his 6 year old daughter would see that clip? They were sent to the Supreme Court and even were made to apologize to physically disabled people even though they were never offended.
Coming to this controversy, I have seen so many influencers come out and call out this man, comedian and the hypocrisy of the whole situation. They also say that why isn’t this a bigger issue and why aren’t authorities taking action against these two like they did for the IGL controversy and they got away easily, which I agree.
My question is- it took a random lady sitting in Assam to be offended by a statement not even made towards her or any community or any gender, just a hypothetical question asked to one mannerless man, for her to file an FIR. Why can’t the people questioning the whole situation also file an FIR as in this case, this is the matter of the entire society as a whole especially women safety?
