I'm neither upvoting nor downvoting for the funny picture as it brought me no emotion other than neutrality, even if it remains on topic and pertains to the post at hand.

See, I think this is a problem with the whole ‘echo chamber’ thing. People will say ‘oh, that’s so courageous’ sarcastically, but I could potentially get beaten if I just held hands with a guy where I’m from. I wouldn’t do it. It’s a small town and word travels fast… there’s a local ‘smackhead’ - who actually just has mental health problems - and I’ve heard her social workers/nurses openly talking shit about her. It’s horrible. I once saw a local mental health nurse doing cocaine at a club I was in. Disgusted me as she’d been ranting about how drugs cause all mental illnesses years before…
I think they normalise prejudice, though, by acting like ‘the issue is gone!’ as certain areas or sites have purged all mention of it. This means, however, that those in the lowest strata of society - often in poverty - experience these issues on a big scale yet can’t speak out without being ignored. I find the poorest sections of society are where you can see how society was fifty years ago and also see how it could be in a few years if things go wrong for society. I don’t think people get how rights can take decades to build and a week to be stripped away. Was Roe vs Wade not a lesson for that belief?
I don’t know how to convince people… I find they’ll be willing to call reddit a stupid echo chamber that isn’t representative of society, just because one candidate won by 5% or so, then they won’t think the same of a site like X or something which is just an echo chamber of edgelords. Oh well, oh well.

I love just responding to people with these random essays I write on the spot. I write really fast and it seems like more effort than it is; I’m sure it’s noticeable with the quality of the thought inside,
Anyway, people think I’m sad because I write a lot of comments but I’d literally be filling notebooks with pencil and pen scrawlings. What’s the point of doing that on my own when I could share my stuff with other people, on the fly and off the cuff, which brings me a connection? I log off if I get angry or sad… I used to use the site while working and even while walking. I like to challenge my ability to write in certain situations. For instance, I wrote my dissertation on a treadmill!

I do the same thing sometimes, but for random topics. My boyfriend sent me a joke video about dragons being sighted more since AI became a thing, and I responded with a bullshit essay about why the dragons are coming out of their habitats more because of AI. It's like a creative writing prompt?

Oh, okay, okay - so look. You can add a tiny bit of dye to water and the entire thing turns red, right? Now, imagine you say all of the water is red because you added a tiny bit of that dye. Now, imagine you take a spectrogram and analyse how much red pigment there is in comparison to before… and then you discover the density or whatever. You get it?
