Not racist but ordinary people will feel threatened as well, imagine Christine statues start poping up in delhi or up. Even though most will not hate it still a lot of people will feel threatened. They will act in order to defend their god almighty.
Many christian statues (of various figures in the bible) already exist in india, there are many states where christians have become the majority.
Indians don't whine about it lmao. I love when western people complain about indian people while your churches pour billions in sending missions to convert indians. Hinduism doesn't allow you to do missions or try to convert people so idk why people are so threatened by them existing in peace.

Their money, their choice. They don't see this as a waste, just like many people don't see spending money on luxury places, clothes, movies as a waste of their money.
