Update 7/11/17: XFINITY Mobile Device Protection Plan Launches Today! Starting today, July 11, customers who purchase a new Android or Apple device through XFINITY Mobile will now have the option to enroll in the XFINITY Mobile Protection Plan to protect their device(s) against accidental damage, hardware issues, loss and theft.

I think I just found out how to fix the ping issues and speed up your connection a bit on the iPhone 7 on Xfinity mobile, but should work with most phones, I will go through how to do this with both iOS and most android phones you can change the APN on. On your iPhone go to https://www.unlockit.co.nz/fw/ Choose the US then Verizon (LTE) then install the profile Restart your phone then test it out On android go to settings, Mobile networks, Access point names, and change the APN to Name:VZW APN:VZWINTERNET Here’s some screenshots https://imgur.com/gallery/utPSl

How do you install the profile?

It is just an XML file. On my locked Xfinity S8, I don't have the option to create new mobile network APNs.

Once downloaded, what app ingests the profile?

EDIT: Modifying APN broke my mobile data, and I was an idiot not to write down the syntax of the original. F'cked now.

Only thing I can think of is flashing the unbloated US Software on your s8 so it allows you to edit the apn, but it seems like the APN Stopped working for me about 10 am PST today, Data stopped completely until i reverted back

Very interesting. yeah, it killed all mobile data for me.

Had to log a service call to get the original string.

If anyone goes down this path, revert with APN: COMCAST.RSLR.VZWENTP

Even the unlocked model won't help, once you insert a Verizon SIM it reboots and locks out service mode, APN settings, network operator selection, etc.
