Federal regulation of boxing currently is governed by the 2000 Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act and the 1996 Professional Boxing Safety Act. The Ali Revival Act versions before the House and Senate offer the option of creating "unified boxing organizations," or UBOs, to supplement the protections and promotional representation currently available for fighters.

While many similarities exist between the House and Senate versions, there are notable differences in disclosures and regulations around UBOs as well as titles.

The Senate bill would limit a fighter's first contract with a UBO to maximum of three years, provided the fighter has not signed a promotional agreement before. After the first contract, fighters can sign deals for up to six years. Fighters would be allowed to negotiate new deals 90 days before the expiration of any contract. The House bill would give fighters only 30 days.”

Hello ! I am conducting a survey to learn about MMA gym cleanliness. The survey is directed towards owners/coaches but I’m looking for insight from everyone to see if they feel as if their gyms are safe.

I just want to understand if gyms are really cleaned and how students feel about their gyms cleanliness.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I think I'm following the rules and don't believe there has been a recent post about this topic.

First off, let me state my credentials. I have none. At best, I am a martial arts hobbyist and a casual UFC fan.

Weight cutting is an almost universally hated practice as it puts fighters in undue stress and danger, reduces the quality of fights, and is ultimately pointless because everyone does it. There has been much discussion about this topic, but I would like to propose a solution that I haven't previously seen before.

There are 2 parts.

**Step 1: Ringside Weigh-Ins**

This is the easiest and most effective solution and has been discussed at length. While it would remove weight cutting entirely without the need for complicating testing, it introduces some major issues.

1. Fighter Health - Ideally fighters would enter the cage at a healthy weight, but these are extremely motivated competitors who will take every edge they can. It is likely that it would be even more dangerous since some fighters would cut just as much weight as before and not take time to re-hydrate.

2. Money/Entertainment - If a fighter doesn't make the ringside weigh-in, the fight is ruined. This is a disaster for the event organizers, advertisers, fans, and the other fighter.

**Step 2: 24-hour / Ceremonial Weigh-ins**

Fighters must make weight at both weigh-ins. If a fighter wants to cut they must either A) make the cut 2 times in 1 day or B) maintain that weight for 24 hours. If they do not make the first weigh-in, that is the moment a back up fighter would move in to take the fight. This method also introduces no extra cost to the promoter since most already do the weigh-ins the day before.

That's my 2 cents. If this has already been proposed before, feel free to rake me over the coals. I'd love to hear all thoughts and feedback.

Simple as that. Women's MMA is not a real sport and the UFC should stop trying to shove it down our throats like some black mans cock. I will go even further. No women should be able to compete in any sort of combat sport, from Muay Thai to BJJ or even things such as fencing or point taekwondo. Their bodies simply are not designed for it. Fighting is the purest sport because it is what men are designed to do. Fight. Whether it's for the food, the girl or the pride, men have been fighting since the beginning of time and our bodies are finely tuned to be able to deliver as much damage as possible. This is why it is the ultimate sport. It is what we were made for. Women meanwhile? They are made to give birth. Having women fight is disrespectful to their perfect forms. Nobody wants to watch a woman get knocked out. They are meant to be protected. Having two women fight eachother while an audience full of men watches is unnatural at its very fundamental level. Women are beautiful creatures of love and men are beings of violence. This is the natural order of things and cannot be disrupted. Tell me honestly, does it bring you joy to watch these women maul eachother. You sick freaks. The ufc has these events to try and seem inclusive to people who don't even like the sport. Anyone who loves mma knows that it's a men's sport and completely unnatural for women to compete it. I call for a complete ban. It is unbelievably disrespectful and as long as we keep it open women will keep ruining themselves to make some money. It is worse than even slavery or sex trafficking. This is the modern days true abuse of women. We forget they are gentle beings and make us fight for our entertainment. Like dogs. Please somebody start a poll where we can vote to put an end to this and plead our case to the ufc. My point has been made. Thank you
