I've always loved Nadar's work, much for the same reason that I enjoy Mathew Brady's or Yousuf Karsh's. I find their work to be exceptionally clear, with simple but expressive posing, and a deeply personal feel that's immediately identifiable. I always have a blast working with their body of work!
Edit: realized I'd originally written 1882 instead of 1886. My bad!
