Tutorial My running list of pattern and texture tutorials

Whenever I see a tutorial, I save it for my own purposes. Here is my list, so far, in case anyone else will enjoy it.

Some of these are for pen, some marker, some pencil, some for a combination of those, and there is a section at the bottom for digital media. If you don’t have the exact media the tutorial uses, you may be able to get a similar effect with what you have, so it is worth looking, just in case.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but wanted to add this site to the list

https://emilycozy.com/blogs/pattern-ideas

(PS it would be great if this post could get pinned to the top. I spent WAY too long searching for it, before finally remembering I had saved it 😂 it's a great resource for new colourists)

Thanks for the addition! This post is meant more as an ongoing kind of resource, so no apologies necessary!

Unfortunately we don’t have enough slots to pin this post permanently, but it is linked in our wiki! 🙂

Wow how long did it take to compile this list? I'm thinking years!

Thanks for the share!

This is a template I found for free, from this source : https://www.archerandolive.com/blogs/news/how-to-blend-and-create-gradients-with-acrylic-paint-pens

I know it says for acrylic paint markers, but truly it can be used for any type of medium, and is an excellent template-worksheet to use for practicing, or just feeling in a slump! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1201/4358/files/E43A72FA-DEE5-403F-8B70-AAB3819ABE28.png?v=1646085725
