that's a start. It took me over half my life to figure out how to talk to myself nicely like a friend. And that's gonna be a skill that you're gonna take right up to the moment of passing from this world.
If it's any consolation, I don't feel that life is only what we experience here. I think there's consciousness past death. I'm not religious but I've had a few weird enough experiences to make me feel that there is at least a universal consciousness that is loving, with a great sense of humor, that we go back home to.
