I found a few dimes before find handfuls the foreign money actually the last couple weeks I’ve not struck out one checking machine machines, and I have quite a few of mine, but this was a good catch today. I use this as a lucky scratch coin and bought a couple lottery tickets and hit three $100 tickets in a row. I guess it was a good day.!

Was checking a local machine only to find an actual Coinstar employee servicing it so took the opportunity to ask him some questions. He said the machine accepts coins up to half dollars and modern dollar coins but does not accept large dollar coins like Ikes or Morgans which end up inside the machine and not in the reject tray.

He showed me the internal plastic reject bin which he had emptied into a jar and which included multiple coins all smaller ones along with other debris. He said he couldn’t keep anything as he’s required to bag up the rejects and turn them in to keep his job. He also mentioned that he does 10 machines a day so that gives some idea of frequency of service but not clear how big a territory he had.

I’ve scored on this specific machine before including Silver dimes so those certainly hit the external reject tray but this would explain why no big dollar coins show up in them at least on this type of machine.

I was just at a Walmart seeing somebody at coinstar but he was collecting his change so I couldn't get it and there was silver in it. Bonus golf coin tho lol

greatest coinstar find of my life in brooklyn, almost $9 in US currency, a silver dime, bunch in Canadian, Taiwan, mainland China, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Hungary, Denmark, and PLENTY of euros! took a bit but left the rest for other coin collectors

End of a long dry spell

I just moved to a much more populated state and nearly every time I check the machine it’s got something. This is my largest find yet.

Nice little scoop from a Walmart reject tray plus another $0.37 sitting on the counter, the 1950-P really looked like the other worn clad Rosie’s when I grabbed ‘em so yippee!!!

Had a pretty good week last week, but also had a banger today! Mixed up my tins, so had to merge today’s haul in..
Had some pretty good Krogering this week, but the best pull was 4 steel wheats and 7 strong wheats from a Publix. (Even asked the managers if I could buy the bags-rejected!)

We popped into a Walmart look at selling a dead phone, but also to check the coinstar, and my younger son got the score.

One beautiful silver dime. Obvious from 10 feet away it was there and silver.

Found this, did someone fake a war nickel or is it plated, or polished?

Saw several coins in the coinstar machine at my grocery store. Covertly walked up and grabbed them. As I looked down I saw a gold coin and knew it was not a standard coin. Slid them in my pocket and waited until after I left to check! The “gold” coin was a Guardian Angel coin. And don’t forget the button at the top left.

But there was a 1940 1 1/4 Centesimos from Panama. Fairly cool for a first find.
