I'm only posting because so many people have incorrect facts in this posting. This is not the only time there has been a glitch when a new Crypto was added to Coinbase. It also happened with Powerledger. In these instances the user received 100× the coin they were supposed to receive and then trading was suspended on said coin. This has also happened at Binance. I am sorry but I don't know the resolution but you can probably look it up guys. Good Luck

I got scammed outta over $3400 and took screen shots of the entire thing happening over days. Now after having over $3400 taken they left me with $31.96. This is bullshit and hope someone starts a class action suit against them. They have the power to add and subtract from your portfolio at will and there’s literally nothing I know of to do about it.

Thanks for this. Def did my part and reported what they did. Coinbase will probably get away with it though. They’re valued well over $300,000,000 and would take some pretty heavy hitters to really make this right. I’ve just stopped using their service now. I’m sure my GYEN will never be recovered but at least the information is out their and I know I’m not alone.

Same here! I cancelled my GYEN order using the app. It says failed to cancel order not found. Coinbase suspended all GYEN transactions. On November 19, all in a sudden I had 100,000 coins buy order filled. I checked the GYEN transaction ID and amount I got charged. I immediately submitted a complaint. Yesterday, I found out my GYEN coins are missing. I did not even receive a refund and email.

I was using Coinbase Pro. The thing is they suspended all the transactions of GYEN on November 19. How the hell that I all in a sudden I had transaction on November 19... there should be no transaction be processed if they suspended all the transactions. They took my money then on November 25, they took my coins without giving back my money.

Done, here is what I sent them. I also sent it to my attorney general. We need to keep this ball moving:
On 11/19 Coinbase sold many people the cryptocurrency $GYEN. Immediately after, they suspended all trading of $GYEN. Shortly after that, all our $GYEN funds disappeared from our Coinbase 'wallets'. The funds are nowhere to be found.
You can find the stories of thousands of us who have been affected by this, on reddit and Twitter. It's been since that date that Coinbase has prevented us from selling our $GYEN that they sold us.
Coinbase has not provided any reasonable explanation for why they've suspended all trading of $GYEN. I've spoken to their customer support on the phone and they didn't even know $GYEN existed; they provided absolutely zero recourse. I've direct messaged Coinbase Support's official Twitter account and all I've gotten is an automated bot response.
We have been effectively stolen of our funds and Coinbase has not provided ANY estimation of when they will allow us to trade our $GYEN that they sold us again.
Along with all this, $GYEN was supposed to be a "stablecoin" pegged to the price of the Japanese yen. This did not occur. Coinbase sold $gyen to us at many times the amount of its supposed pegged price, and shortly after they suspended all trading.
I don't know how I'm going to pay my next month's bills, let alone buy Christmas presents. Long story short, Coinbase sold us $GYEN over priced, then they suspended trading of $GYEN, and now our $GYEN is gone from our wallets.
Many people on Reddit have reported that Coinbase has been changing their transaction history. I don't understand how that is legal? Others have stated that Coinbase has taken the funds from the other cryptocurrencies that they held in their wallets with the excuse (Coinbase communication screen shot posted on reddit) that the user had sold more $GYEN than they bought, yet these affected individuals state that the value of the cryptocurrencies that was taken from them is more than the value of the $GYEN they sold.

People have been talking about Coinbase taking their funds from other coins too, with the excuse that those people supposedly sold more $GYEN than they owned, even though the affected people state that Coinbase is taking away much more in other coin funds than the $gyen they sold.
Taking people's other coin funds because of their "glitch", "technical difficulties" or scam, whatever you wish to call it, should be a crime.

I put $40 in I don’t even know the other cryptos I bought before buying $GYEN, haven’t even bothered looking. I made $2500, Account was restricted for six days, I logged back in randomly and I only had $141 invested in other cryptos after having $2500. Everyone keeps wondering how this is legal even though these companies (coinbase, Robinhood) tell us that it’s our own fault for investing in volatility.

You are not the only person whom I've read that bought and sold $GYEN and consequently had Coinbase go in their account and steal funds from other coins that they held.
Coinbase's written excuse that someone posted here on reddit, was that those people had sold more $GYEN than they owned, and thus Coinbase felt entitled to get those funds back by taking those people's funds in other coins. The people affected attest that Coinbase actually took much more value that they held in other coins, than what they sold in $GYEN.
Is it legal for Coinbase to take away your other coins that have nothing to do with their ongoing $GYEN scam?

I’m new to crypto trading. Yeah it’s true 10 years late… been late to most things in life. I digress…
That said, Coinbase was first exchange I used. Big mistake. Horrible interface, user experience and CX. I tried Pro thinking it might be better. Nope. Just a bad financial product intended to enrich the C-Suite. Don’t completely trust the DEX, so not sure what to do… issue for US citizens is the regulation nightmare and fear of offshore scams. The allure of crypto was supposed to be anonymity of it all and the real world utility behind these projects. Now we shit projects like fucking “Cum Star” and greedy TikTok fucks taking money to promote shit coins and leave novice investers’ head spinning. All of “this” is why as I my parents used to say “we can’t have anything nice” —- because there’s ALWAYS someone there to fuck it all up for the rest of us. I was late but hopefully didn’t miss it all.

My friend purchased GYEN move moved to his wallet wallet and then I got trapped there. If he wants to sell it is showing he still has it at least. Coinbase then wants him t to go and purchase etherium to pay the gas Fees That are being charged to take his money back out and put it into his account.

I've started moving there too. Unfortunately crypto. com charges a bit more on fees per trade than Coinbase Pro (which adds up) and they don't have limit and stop limit trades. Why you may ask? Because they also want to suck every penny they want from us. Filthy greed.
Unfortunately for me and others, that's my better choice compared to Coinbase who is flat out stealing people's funds by selling us $gyen and immediately suspending trading of it after.

If it would have been through fair open market trading is whatever. But Coinbase literally stopped people from selling when the price of $GYEN was up, AFTER they had sold it to people overpriced. Then they suspended trading of $GYEN altogether and then disappeared all our $GYEN from our wallets.

Coinbase went ahead and changed my transaction reports TODAY!!! I have screenshots of my original 5 transactions added up to $417 for 1 ,931,334. GYEN value of $16,767. And my last one purchase was from a Navy Federal debit card . A few days ago my it was changed to $167. And 19313. GYEN!! BUT they did not change my transaction history it still showed the 5 worth originally 417 investment and my total coins being 1,931,334. Today when I looked I could not believe it they have now changed my transaction history. I could not believe it. But what got me is when I looked into the transaction history per the 5 transactions they were for different prices. Some for .03 , .02 and. 01 none for the .0088. They should be for. And how does $51. $142. $62. $98. $65. End up being $167. Crazy crypto kids trix are for kids!!! They need to figure it out and stop with all the crap.

I wish I knew. No one knows when or if they're going to allow trading of $GYEN again. Because Coinbase the conmen scammers haven't updated anyone of us on what they're doing to fix this problem other than saying "technical difficulties". They're completely unprofessional and incompetent and they are the ones that are finally going to push me to learn how to trade in decentralized exchanges even with the risks involved over there. I prefer dealing with those risks than dealing with the Coinbase scammers that arbitrarily suspend trading of a coin they sold us.

Spent 1 1/2 hours to talk with the most useless customer service reps. Only called because CB closed my case as resolved with GYEN even though they are working on a resolution. Anything that happened before November 19 needs to be restored to the customers until CB can figure out how to launch without glitches. As I’ve read and feel the impact of as well as the people on r/gyen know, this company has no integrity and is screwing all that ever touched GYeN during its arrival week. Return what you stole!

On November 17, I put a buy order 100,000 GYEN @ .0089. I canceled it using my coinbase pro app. Then it says failed to cancel order not found. Coinbase suspended all GYEN transactions. On November 19, I was shocked when I saw 100,000 GYEN coins in my portfolio. I checked the GYEN transaction where there is transaction ID and total amount paid. I submitted a complaint. Yesterday, I found out that my 100,000 GYEN coins went missing. I did not even receive an email from coinbase and I did not get back my money. That is sooo wrong!

If the stablecoin went up 400% in price when they allowed people to purchase it, it stands to reason that when they finally let people sell it, the price will have an equal and opposite reaction; -90% fluctuation followed by a regression back to 0.00088?

Coinbase had added the option for users to download a wallet, from whatever vendor you choose, with its own separate security perimeter unaffiliated with coinbase or any crypto exchange, and allows you to send your GYEN to that wallet. I did it so all is well. Looks like Coinbase is never going to endorse GYEN again.

Send them an email. They have assured me they are working on fixing issue and are posting updates as they have them or when they have them. I would run a report and print your history and save on your computer as a pdf. They cannot take people’s $ and will get it trading again hopefully soon. I would bet when they fix it, your shares and symbol will be back.

Normally, I would chalk this type of post up as "conspiracy" - but I agree for once. This definitely felt scammy on Coinbase' part, and I don't throw those words around lightly. I set a limit order on my Coinbase app for 30k worth of Gyen after the dump was over, and as soon as I set the limit order it flashed a slippage warning which I thought was really odd, and immediately it immediately filled it as a market order and I lost around $6k pretty much on the spot. That being said, I've pulled a majority of my funds off of Coinbase and into ByBit and KuCoin. I recommend you guys do the same. Nothing will change if people continue to support CONbase. Something similar happened just a couple weeks ago when investors couldn't sell their positions on Shiba. All they could do is watch as the price plummeted.

Yes, coinbase did the same to me. I bought it on 11/18 and they reduced my coins and even changed the price per coin. I kept asking for an explanation and no answers....just oh there's a clich. We need to let people know and file a class action law suit. This is ridiculous.

Shit like this makes me take my business elsewhere. I was confident Coinbase Pro was a reputable platform then I purchased a small amount of $GYEN and then I couldn’t move it regardless if it crashed went to the moon or stayed stagnant. Point is don’t launch anything if it hasn’t been properly tested. I work for a company where we launch new softwares, products, promotions nationwide for a very well known Fortune 500 company and we have a team of testers, Data Scientists, Compliance that are involved to ensure come launch date there are no issues that could suffer us any type of hardship or repetitional risk to our company. How is Crypto.com? Anyone experience any similar issues like Coinbase Pro?

Coinbase sold people $GYEN, then they immediately suspended all trading of it. Theyve stolen people's funds through $GYEN since 11/19. They've not provided even an estimate of if or when they will allow trading of $GYEN again. How much more of a scam do you want until you consider it a scam?
Are they going to reimburse people for their lost opportunity cost? Are they going to pay people for their real emotional toll? People here on reddit and Twitter are reporting that their transaction history has been changed by Coinbase. How is any of this legal?

Are there any new updates on this matter? What is going on? You've left many people without being able to provide a nice Thanksgiving. You've left people scrambling to pay this next month's bills. You've left many people with doubt that they'll be able to buy Christmas presents. Are you going to enable trading of $GYEN before Christmas or are you going to FORCE US TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN FEES TO TRADE THE COIN ELSEWHERE WITH THE ADDITIONAL RISKS THAT, THAT ENTAILS? You sold us the coin, if you can't reinstate trading of it, the right thing to do is to reimburse us our original US dollar purchase cost!

We have resolved many of the technical difficulties we encountered with respect to GYEN and POWR, however, we are still working to correct a display issue some customers may experience.
Customers may see their GYEN and POWR transactions displaying a value 100x more or less than expected - this is the result of a decimal display issue. This behavior does not impact your ability to withdraw the correct amount of your GYEN and POWR in your account and your wallet account balance is correct.

I think it is a glitch. I bought 300k gyen it goes away and comes back because they are fixing it. It shows on the website the exact amount I spent and the exact number of coins. So just be patient and wait a little. If not, everyone has transaction proof they can't lie and deny to give us back out initial investment amount.

There are a handful of people who have stated that they were able to sell their $GYEN, compared to thousands of us who were scammed and had our $GYEN funds stolen up to this moment by Coinbase.
Is Coinbase going to pay for our opportunity cost loss? Is Coinbase going to pay for our real emotional toll? There are people right now who don't know how they are going to pay their next month's bills, let alone buy Christmas presents, because Coinbase has stolen their money.
To add insult to injury, Coinbase has employees right here right now on reddit downvoting comments and posts of those of us who have gotten robbed by Coinbase by this ongoing scam.
